Here's a fun little fact about our furry pals: while dogs can devour just about anything, there are certain foods that can turn them from happy pups into not-so-happy campers! 🚫🍫

Take grapes, for instance. You might think they're a healthy snack, but they're actually a big no-no for dogs. Just a handful can lead to kidney failure! 😱 And don’t get me started on chocolate—because, let’s be real, if dogs could have a sweet tooth, chocolate would be their first choice! 🍫 But it’s a serious danger.

Xylitol, often found in sugar-free gum and some peanut butter, is another sneaky ingredient that can wreak havoc on a dog’s health. It drops their blood sugar and can lead to liver failure! Yikes!

So, next time you're enjoying a snack, remember to keep those toxic foods away from your pup. They may give you those puppy-dog eyes, but trust me, it’s better to stick to doggie treats. 🥳🍖 Let’s keep our furry friends safe and sound!

Rest In Peace, Sweet Max! He was a rescue who didn’t have a very good start in life. He was abused and used for breeding stock for a good many years. He was anxious and fearful and needed everything to be just right so he could feel safe. He taught me quickly what his preferences were (do’s and DON’TS!), and I was happy to oblige for this special little man. It was an honor to be in his “in crowd”. Once you were accepted he would show you the other side of Max: The playful, chase you around the house, follow you wherever you went, snuggle in your lap Max. You had to re-apply for acceptance every day (sometimes every visit), but it was so worth it to see him happy and stress free and finally living his best life. He couldn’t have had such a life if it weren’t for the wonderful, caring family who adopted him. They were stellar pet parents and gave all that he needed. I will deeply miss my little pal, as I do with all my pet clients who have passed, but it’s the ones who challenge me to open up my heart a little more and to help me find patience when I thought I had no more, that touch me so profoundly.
