Congratulations and thank you to all the riders who came out for the Creekside Short Tour show on Saturday! We had 37 horses and riders participate and our patient judge (Sydni Cook) watched 58 tests!
High Score Introductory Level winner was Sloane Preysz on Snifters Spirit with an amazing score of 78%
High Score Training Level went to Heather Erickson on Danny Boy with a score of 73.8%
High Score First Level was Amelie Beckstead on Monnaie with a score of 70.3%
High Score Second Level was Stephanie Stockton and Enchanted with a score of 63.2%
Each of our high score riders received a beautiful saddle pad with custom embroidery by Marie Pickett. Thank you so much!

We have some volunteer opportunities available at the Creekside Dressage show tomorrow! In order to qualify for UDS awards you need four volunteer hours and helping at the show counts. Also, it is a great way to keep local show opportunities available. We need help with running the gate, scoring tests (you just need to be able to use a calculator), running papers to the office, and making snow cones! If you are willing and able to take a shift for one hour or more any time during the show, please let me know!!!

Do you have a scale in your feed room?
Feeding recommendations are based on weight, not volume, so it is important to weigh your horse's feed.
I use a kitchen scale and first "zero it out" to account for the weight of the scoop. Then I use a sharpie to mark one pound measurements of the various feeds I use. Remember, a "scoop" of one type of feed might weight very differently than the same size scoop with a different feed!

Patrick finished hanging the gates on the new grooming stalls! Please keep the gates shut! Open gates (in or out) are a hazard for riders and make it more likely for the gates to be damaged.
Please double check that the gates are shut before getting on your horse to ride and again before you leave ❤️

Thank you so much to all the riders who came out to play with us at the JumpStart show yesterday! Please post your pictures and videos so we all can enjoy ❤️
Special thank you to the young riders who helped set the course, to Stephanie for helping in the office, to Kay and Abby for sitting with the judge and keeping the computer updated, to Patrick for getting the facility ready and keeping the BBQ going, Mariah for judging, Adrienne for designing courses, and to everyone who stepped in to help at the gate/pick up poles/etc. What a great community we have!!!

In dressage, the best riders develop psychological strength as a key ability because it takes a positive attitude, strong will, good work ethic, humbleness, stubbornness and overall horsemanship to succeed. You have to accept that success and failure never last in this sport, so you have to take each in stride and not make too much of a deal out of either—it is just another day at work. In the end, the best riders have this strength and an undying drive to continue because a rider still has to take care of the horses and get back in the saddle tomorrow and the day after that since this is not only a sport, hobby or business, but a lifestyle that lasts a lifetime. - Jan Brink

Our second JumpStart Horse Show is THIS SATURDAY! Classes available from walk/trot up to 1.10 jumpers. UHJA and Outreach recognized. Entry is super easy at www.ringradar.com Please enter by Thursday night to avoid late fees and to help us give YOU an accurate schedule for Saturdays.
