🐾 Do you love dogs and believe in building strong relationships through mutual respect and positive reinforcement? Are you passionate about helping dog owners and their furry companions unlock their full potential? If so, we want you!

Patience Inspired Dog Training is seeking a talented and compassionate Dog Training Intern to join our growing team. As an intern, you’ll play a vital role in transforming lives by guiding dogs and their owners towards happier, more harmonious relationships. This is a 3 month internship that will hopefully turn into a part-time employment.

What you’ll learn to do:
🐕 Read dog body language and how to communicate with dogs.
🐕 Address a variety of behavioral challenges and training goals.
🐕 Provide clear and effective communication, educating owners on dogs behavior and training techniques.
🐕Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for both dogs and their humans.

What we’re looking for:
🐶Passion for dogs and a desire to learn positive reinforcement training principles.
🐶 No previous experience working with dogs is necessary.
🐶Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
🐶Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
🐶Positive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.

Our Story

Introduction: I am a certified, professional dog trainer by the CCPDT. I believe that an integral part of dog training is patience. For this reason, I named my company and my high-strung, crazy, highly driven, never-napping, and always-moving border collie, Patience. Without her always testing my patience, for sure, I never would have become a dog trainer, not one who has a lot of experience with incorrigible behaviors. I specialize in the following: - In-home private obedience training for canines of all ages - Positive reinforcement dog training - Basic obedience: puppy, beginner, intermediate, and advanced - Behavior issues: fear, aggression, potty training, marking, pulling, resource guarding, jumping, barking, biting, chewing, nipping, separation anxiety, indoor and outdoor destruction, and lots more - Clicker-training method - Therapy dog training and testing I'm a Canine Good Citizen evaluator and has a certification in intermediate and advanced classes. I'm also a Therapy Dogs International evaluator. I'm a certified professional dog trainer (CCPDT) since 2008 and a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers since 2007. For 8 years, I was a K9 handler for the Rhode Island Urban Search and Rescue Team. I am well versed in search and rescue techniques (both urban and wilderness), which include direction and control, agility, air scenting, and obedience. This training has helped me to learn various canine jobs/sports and training methods. I love to bring my varied experiences as a K9 handler and trainer to help create fun and new ways to train and interact with your dog.
