Home to miniature cattle and giant dogs!

It’s a little bit backwards here in Camo County but we love it. Everyone’s the same size, everyone has a great temperament. Our Mastiffs love on you, the Dexters want to be loved on.

The calves think the dogs are their besties. Moo tries to treat them like one of her pups, helping to clean them up and watching over them. They all explore together in the cow’s pasture. Fallen trees not picked up yet, is the favorite nap spot and the mini stream has crawdads and frogs to keep everyone interested.
Especially the ducks!

Who chase both the dogs and the cows to scare them out of “their” territory, but neither ever notice!

With a waterfall through the woods and a creek wrapped around the pastures, everyone stays cool during the hot weather. During winter, they all have a buddy to snuggle up with.

With 16 Mastiff pups it’s a very cozy day at Camo Country!

Try Homesteading for the New Year

Take a moment to slow down. Breathe deeply, sit quietly, it’s time to listen to your inner self.

Many are wanting a fresher, more natural start to the new year. To get back to family, home, nature. To get back to homemade, handmade and home grown. Bringing back simplicity, all natural coziness.

We want that purer, lived in, homespun softness to our life, our homes now, after the sharpness of so much technology, commercialism. We want a retreat where we can get away from the busyness with our family and friends. Whether it’s our home, or a cabin rented in the woods, we are needing more nature in our lives.

Homesteading can be a state of mind, if not a state of being. Start small with a so soft, well worn quilt and extra pillows to create a plush nest of your bed or couch. Try a simple bread recipe and empty your mind as you knead. Turn your apartment balcony into your own garden oasis. You don’t need acreage for fresh, homegrown vegis.

Little inexpensive changes or big life choices, both can give you the satisfaction of picking up and moving to the countryside. To a slower, more conscious and peaceful way of living.
