This is Re*****on! His human says:
"Re*****on (AKA Remi) is a rescue I got back in February of this year. He spent his life in a crate, but you wouldn’t know because he’s the sweetest boy. He lives and breathes to play all day. He’s the happiest little guy when he is playing with his Kong toys. Something unique about Remi is that he makes up his own games when playing. For example, he will bounce his ball into a shoe and take it out and do it all over again. He’s very creative with the games he makes up."
Remi sounds like a blast to watch!

Some people think that black cats are bad luck. We think black cats are the coolest. 😎 If you've ever met Clifton Park store resident and free roaming cat Luda, you know what we mean by cool. He's so cool that everyone wants to pet him, but in typical cat fashion, he is very particular about who gets to touch his luxurious fur.
His favorite hobbies include:
Luring people to pet him and then biting them
Staring out the side door at traffic, longing for more wet food
Making product recommendations by sitting on the product
Sneaking in to the upstairs office where he isn't allowed.

"Maddie is a 15 year old mutt who has taught her little brother Timber who is almost 2 everything he knows. Best chicken flock tenders who love chasing hawks away! They love chewing on rocks (despite being told no many times!), burying their treats for later and sharing sticks and stealing kindling/firewood."

Who doesn't want to see tiny birds flocking to their yard for a sweet treat? Just don't get too excited and overlook some ingredients labeled "harmless" by some, but in actuality can be deadly for others.
Hummingbirds are naturally attracted to the color red. Hummingbirds have learned over time that the color red indicates a rich source of nectar. Visiting a red flower can prove to be even more efficient than other colors because bees can't tell the difference between a red flower and the green leaves, and will often miss the mark and leave the red flowers untouched.
However, red does not belong in man-made nectar. Stick with the traditional 4 parts water to 1 part pure sugar to keep your hummingbirds humming well into their old age.

This is Ballister! He has heterochromia, which is when a dog (or person!) has 2 different colored eyes. This can be genetic or caused by a trauma. The most common breeds to have heterochromia are Huskies, Border Collies, and Australian Shepherds.
Ballister's human has this to say " He might be nervous, he might be a troublemaker, but you know what else Ballister is? Stinking cute, and clever too! No matter the season, no matter the weather, he's ready to go hike trails, make friends, and learn new tricks!"

Well, we do. Not because we are a rescue. We aren't. But, we had the space and there are always more cats than there are homes for them, it seems. So the Benson's Cares Cat Room became a necessity. And if you know how selective we are with what we feed our pets, you'' understand our adoption policy is pretty thorough.

Join us on Saturday, June 08 and Sunday June 09 for our 7th annual Dock Dogs Diving Event! Come watch dogs compete for height, distance, and speed, or sign your dog up to give it a try!
We have 27 vendors coming with tons of knowledge, promotions, coupons, samples, and fun attitudes! We will have Chef David's food again, Pirates Cove ice cream for purchase for humans, and free for dogs provided by Earthborn Pet Food. Heather/The Dog Paw'ler mobile grooming will be here all weekend doing nail trimmings for $25 cash. We have raffles, 2 HUGE Grand Prizes, and all the coolest dogs in all of Upstate NY and beyond!!

Here fishy, fishy 🐠
Freshwater livebearers are some of the easiest fish to keep (and even breed) when you have the right set up. Live bearers are fish that give birth to live tiny fish (as opposed to egg layers). Some examples of fresh water live bearers are guppies, mollies, and platies. We have lots of live hearers to choose form at all of our fish-having locations (Queensbury, Wilton, Clifton Park, Johnstown, Pittsfield, Colonie, and Benson's Fish Room).

This is our Colonie location. Of our 8 stores, there are only 3 that are stand alone buildings. Colonie, Clifton Park, and Wilton. 4 of the other stores are all in plazas (Queensbury, Saratoga Springs, Johnstown, and Pittsfield) and our monster big store Rotterdam has kind of a sidecar business next to it.
Regardless of what kind of building we are in, we always bring the same customer service, nutritional knowledge, and love of pets to each and every customer who chooses to shop with us.

Today is THE day! 🐕🐕
Perfect Pets Rescue is having their first dog adoption event with Benson's! Come meet these adorable pups from 11 AM - 1 PM today (Sunday) May 26.
Coco is 10 months old and 30 pounds. He is a neutered male who has been vaccinated, tested heartworm negative, microchipped, and is a pretty laid back little dude. He is crate trained, mostly potty trained (aren't we all?). Coco loves a chew toy and a snuggle, but also enjoys some solo time as well.
Rosa is 4 months old and 15 pounds. She has been spayed, tested heartworm negative, microchipped, and vaccinated. We will know more about this sweet little girl soon!
