Meet our happy little Kit! This fun girl is enjoying life so much. She lives wrestling and running all day with other dogs of all sizes and shapes. She rides well in a car and after a day of fun and play, she enjoys snuggling under a blanket with you to relax.
Kit is completely potty trained; crate trained and would love to take an agility class or something to bond with you. Her ideal new home would have another young and fun pup to play with or an owner that will take her out daily to dog parks for play dates. This is her only non-negotiable!

Momo! Momo! Momo! 🐾💁‍♀️

This fashionista is looking for a forever home, and honestly, who wouldn't want to fall in love with this face? 😍 She's a playful, persistently affectionate pug/chi mix who loves to run around, chase her foster sibling, and play with toys.

Oh, and Momo's got good leash manners, but don't expect her to be too excited about meeting new people... at first. 😊 She's a little shy, but once you win her over, she'll be your BFF!

ZIGGY IS ADOPTED!

Ziggy was a tiny little guy from SFACC with a badly broken leg. He is actually one of four siblings that have landed at ACC over the past two years with serious leg issues. That's behind him now. He had a wonderful foster that saw him through the surgery and recovery.

And now, he is adopted and getting and giving LOTS of love to his new family!

Update - Fosters found for all!

Help! Fosters still needed!

A local Chihuahua-mix hoarder has brought 11 dogs to the shelter in the last few weeks that he claims to have found. Most are very under-socialized and frightened in the shelter, but very quiet and never spicy. We have been asked to try to find fosters for 4 dogs in the recent drop off, and we have found fosters for 2 of them. The shelter has been naming them after types of shoes.

All the dogs are about 2 years old and appear to be Chihuahua/Dachshund mixes with a bit of Papillon. Wellie (black and white) and Loafer (tan) are males and about 12 pounds. Espadrille, or Espie for short (all black), is a female and a bit bigger at 13 pounds. They are starting to come slightly out of their shell and seeking affection. They all like other dogs and would do best in a foster home with another dog. They do not need to stay together.

Espie has a malformed front right leg, either due to an old injury or born that way. She doesn't use it much but gets around fine and it does not cause her pain.

Help! Fosters needed!

Sandal the longer-furred black one is female and 7.5 pounds. They are starting to come slightly out of their shell and seeking affection. They all like other dogs and would do best in a foster home with another dog. They do not need to stay together. Sandal is the least socialized and Loafer shows the most signs of confidence.

We are hoping to find a foster home for this guy! Look at the adorable underbite on this guy! He is currently being called El Jefe, but is open to any name. He is about 7 years old and 20 pounds. He has had a rocky start living most of his life on the streets. He just needs a slow approach and he is a sweetie. His foster home should be adult only. Update - Flip-Flop and Moccasin found placement with another group.

Two cuties looking for foster homes. They arrived at the shelter together but can go into 2 separate foster homes. Both are about 3 years old and just under 10 pounds. They were abandoned with 3 other dogs in a local park. They are frightened in the shelter but cuddly when given a chance. While they can be separated, they might do better in a foster home with another dog.

Happpppppy Friday. You know you love adoption update and we have one.

It takes time for a senior male tan Chihuahua to find a forever home but we are so happy to say DOOBIE did it. He charmed his way into the hearts of his new family. Happy trails, DOOBIE!

What cute little chihuahua!

Gidget is about 5 1/2 years old and just over 7 pounds.

Gidget is active and playful. Like some Chihuahua mixes, she only likes her own family, and strangers should be told not to touch. She would be happiest as an only dog or with a small, playful, male dog. Gidget prefers women but could probably get used to a patient man who gives her some time. We believe she needs a space with a yard. Gidget is located in the South Bay.

Guess who got ADOPTED! Toby who is now Freddie! Toby was left outside the shelter in a crate during the cold winter night. This little puppy of 10-11 months is a complete sweetheart and won over his new adopters with his amazing eyes! They better get used to being controlled by that cutie pie!

This little gem is a medical special needs pup. Sasha is a very sweet and easy going 3-year-old Bichon mix; she is about 11 pounds. She loves all people and dogs and enamors everyone she meets. She walks well on leash, sleeps through the night in her crate, and does relatively well with her alone time. She has an adorable way of getting one's attention and loves to play with other dogs.

Unfortunately, Sasha was most likely hit by a car at some point and her spine is broken in her lower back. She has full use of all her legs, but she's completely incontinent. Her foster assists her to empty her bladder 3-4 times per day (easy to do, and a potential adopter could be taught to do it). If she is assisted to empty her bladder, her diaper stays dry, and her fur stays clean. Due to her condition, Sasha is prone to UTIs but helping her to empty her bladder regularly decreases this potential. Luckily she doesn't show any signs of pain and has a full life expectancy.

Sasha will need to live with someone who is home most of the time. She'd probably do best in a home with a yard, so she doesn't always have to be in a diaper, but she would also be an easy dog for an apartment dweller as she doesn't necessarily have to be walked first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Since Sasha is "non-shedding, she will need regular grooming.
