This isn't a part-time job for us. Your pet will receive our full attention and not be fit into our day. We are fully insured and bonded and operate as an LLC. As the owner of the company, I have more than 20 years’ experience in animal care. I have spent 15 years in the zoo business as an animal care manager with exotics. While working as a zoo keeper, I also worked caring for horses and I spent 2 years working as a civilian contractor for the Department of Defense caring for military working dogs. Before and during college I worked in boarding kennels and veterinary clinics. I made the decision to leave my zoo career and start my own company while still getting to do something I love-care for animals. My family and I have settled in the area I grew up to assist a community I know. I hope you will see the value in what J&M Critter Care has to offer your family.

A few pictures from some of the Christmas visits. We are starting to prepare for the snow storm. The changes are coming in quick. Some people are trying to leave town early and some are delaying when they are leaving. We always try to have contingency plans and make adjustments as needed. It’s a huge puzzle with lots of moving pieces. We always make it through with the amazing staff we have. 😀

I have a lot of phone calls to return tomorrow!! I tried to take a little time to try and wrap presents 🎁, go to the kids Christmas programs 🎶 , and just breath. I’m not sure I did a great job 🤣. I absolutely couldn’t keep all the pet sits going without my amazing team members. We don’t have an “office person”. All team members,including myself, do pet sits. It sometimes doesn’t leave much time to return the phone calls and answer the messages. Here is a picture of everything that makes this crazy schedule worth it to me. What is going on here?!?! Pretty frequently peoples beloved pets turn into fibbers when their parents are away. Sometimes, it’s trying to get extra snacks or breaking furniture rules. In this case, it’s outside kitties trying very hard to convince us they are allowed inside. The more notes we have in your account, the better off we are in keeping everything straight 😆

This very vocal kitty would like to remind everyone that Christmas requests are due in by December 9th. Unfortunately, we did end up not accepting a few Thanksgiving requests because I wanted our staff to enjoy their Thanksgiving as well. Please get the requests in early.

I feel like I should have waited until Friday and we could have called it “flop over Friday”. Sometimes they do it to avoid exercise 🙄, sometimes it’s because they want to roll in something gross 🤢, sometimes it’s to be cute ☺️ and sometimes it’s for the belly rubs. One photo was trying to get out of an insulin shot.
I am thinking we need to revisit the meet a team member posts……..we have some of the best and I sure couldn’t do it without them.

Thanksgiving week requests need to be in by November the 11th.

The app that we use allows team members to send pictures and updates after every visit. It also allows you to communicate back with all team members who are assigned to your visits with one message.

Our Story

Why hire a pet sitter? A pet sitter can provide you peace of mind when you are on vacation and prove to be of tremendous help to a busy family or when if you find yourself unable to provide daily care for your pet during an illness. A pet sitter comes to your home and provides care for the animals in your home while you are unable too. Allowing your pets to stay in the comfort of their home can minimize stress to them during your absence. Some pets enjoy going to the kennel. However, there are many who do not. Allowing a pet sitter into your home also has the advantage of not needing to get the pets dropped off or arrange for a pick up upon your return.

Why hire J&M Critter Care? We have experience with a wide variety of animals. The business is fully insured to protect you, your home and us and operates as an LLC. Providing quality pet care is our full-time job and our goal is to have a qualified pet sitter available to you whenever the need arises. While providing exceptional animal care we will also be looking out for anything wrong with your property. If you need the mail brought in, plants watered, trash taken to the curb, or lighting adjusted there is no extra charge and your pet sitter will be happy to take care of it for you. Our goal is to be able to grow the business and be an asset and active part of the community we serve. In our first year alone we donated $750 back to the community in the form of sponsorship and money to adoption agencies and local animal rehabbers. I hope you can see and share in our vision.
