Say hi to Ty again! Ty’s true personality is coming out and she is so funny and quirky. We are so smitten with her!

1. She has FOMO on EVERYTHING. If she is in, and there’s noise outside, she wants out.
2. If she’s out, and there’s noise inside, she wants in.
3. If you leave, she wants to come with you.
4. If you stay, she wants to stay with you, (unless it sounds like there is fun elsewhere, lol).
5. If #4 doesn’t make sense, refer to # 2. And so it goes.

Bottom line. She LOVES to be around people and dogs. She wants to belong SO BAD. 😩❤️

Ty is a total LOVE who we can tell, is trying to make up for lost time. It’s as if she’s never ran in the grass before, or played with a ball before. It’s beautiful to see her try, but bittersweet a little too. What we are starting to see, is in addition to her easy going side, she’s got a silly side too, and she can be a goofball. Happy, carefree, curious, loyal, alert, and loving all come to mind with Ty. We are hoping these traits might hit home with someone reading this. And if they do, let us know!

Time to say hello to striking Sky! Just look at this dazzling girl!

Sky came to us from Tehama County, after spending two long months in the shelter there. She’s an 8-year old Mastiff, and a lovely gurl, inside and out. 🌸

Sky is in foster care, and her foster has shared that she knows, “sit, shake,” and “down,” followed by “please rub my belly.” 😉

She lives with 4 other dogs at the present time; 2 young, and 2 senior, and she behaves with them appropriately for their ages. She is intuitive that way.

Sky sleeps soundly through the night and has been a wonderful houseguest. Want her to be in YOUR house forever? 🥰

Sadly, we discovered Sky is heart- worm positive at her vet appointment, however, since it was caught early, treatment began immediately, and we expect her to make a full recovery.

Give us a call or send an email in so you can come meet her! 707-787-7010; [email protected]; lilyslegacy.org

There’s a new kid in town! Sweet Rocco just arrived last night, and he’s got quite a story; the A.C. Officer in the 2nd photo knew him when he was a pup. Sadly, when a call came in about an abused, neglected and starved dog left all alone in a backyard, the A.C. Officer on the call recognized Rocco, and immediately took charge. Rocco was seized and brought into the shelter, under the officer’s watchful eye, and fed 3 hearty meals a day immediately.

After an assessment, the shelter decided to deem Rocco “rescue only,” to ensure he would never get back to his neglectful and abusive owners, so he was protected in this way, but because Rocco was in the Merced shelter, which is extremely overcrowded, he was running out of time. That’s when Lily’s was contacted, and the undertaking of getting Rocco to us began. 🐾

No more cold nights, no more abuse, no more thirst, no more hunger. We got you, Rocco! 💙

We can’t wait to share more with you as he settles in!

We are comin’ back at you with Tony Baloney after getting another wonderful update from his foster. Isn’t he so handsome!?

Here’s what we got; “(He’s) doing great! A very happy boy! Absolutely loves balls, particularly squeaky ones…He loves to be pet(ted), especially on his hind legs…We absolutely love how enthusiastic about training he is - super trainable and wants to please…”

Tony is high energy and would do well in an active household with lots of walks or runs and hikes, ball-tosses, exploring, and depending on the other dog’s tolerance, possibly an only dog, due to his high energy levels. His foster has another dog who he gets along with, but the other dog takes breaks when he needs to. Lol. The foster says Tony is an absolute delight.

Might you feel like adding a delight to your life? 😛 Let us know! 707-787-7010; [email protected]; lilyslegacy.org 💙

Daisy Doodle, 🌼 A Little Diddy

What can we tell you about Daisy Doodle?
We can tell you that she is not a poodle. 🐩
We could say that she can be lots of fun.
And that when she’s off leash, she loves to run. 🏃‍♀️
Or that she gets very jealous when we pet Ty. 🤫
And that Buzz has a crush on her, we can’t lie…🤭
She’s the sweetest girl, and silly too, 😛
Tho she’ll warm your heart, and give cuddles to you. 🥰
All you must do is say ok,
That you’ll adopt or foster her today! 🤗
And p.s. We’ll even include the beret, which we think makes her look extra adorable! (Don’t you?) 🤭

Here’s what happens when we try to lighten/liven up things with some outfits for the pups, lol.

Gemma was really having none of the cute little pastel beanie we tried multiple times to put on her, (see last photo). 🫣 And we finally surrendered when it made a better toy than a hat! 😂😂😂

We also do acknowledge that she looks like a sad little villager with the infinity scarf around her head, but alas, we tried! 🤭

We know you’ve all seen Gemma Gaga, Gemma Gee, Gemma Gidget, Gemma Goo, Gemmers, GemGem a gazillion gemzillion times, but she’s still with us, and still wishing & hoping & praying for her furever home. 🏠 🐾

Obviously, she will do anything, (she let us wrap a scarf around her head, lol) for the ones she loves. And she can stop you in your tracks with the most beautiful, hypnotizing, golden eyes, but more importantly, she’s getting to the point where she just tries to be SO GOOD when anyone walks in the room, or by her kennel. It’s like she’s seen all her kennelmates come and go, and now, she is trying SO HARD to win someone over. 🥹 She is really such a beautiful and sweet and silly and lovable and playful girl. 🌸 We hope you’ll consider giving her a try.

She’d be best in a house as an only dog, but she picks and chooses dogs she likes, so other dogs are a possibility. She loves all people, but probably kiddos over the age of 10 is best because in her prior life, little children threw rocks at her and hit her. 😞 Gemma just deserves some free and easy and happy years with someone who loves her and someone we guarantee she will love and adore back. 🥰
Won’t you give her a chance? Call us or email us to come meet her; 707-787-7010; [email protected]

Sometimes rehoming dogs can be difficult. And that’s why we’re here! We are always about keeping the dog’s best interest in mind, and we can be objective, when sometimes others can’t. Such was the case with Jack, and we were asked to help. Here’s how it went;

Jack’s rehoming was an incredibly difficult decision for his current family. Jack had been diagnosed with Addison’s Disease, which is manageable, but requires treatment, and was a bit more than this family with 3 young children could handle.

The good news is that Jack’s family was able to meet Jack’s new owner, at Lily’s. Jack’s new owner is named Marty, and Marty had heard about Jack from one of our long-time volunteers, and had been wanting a dog for quite some time.

A meeting was set up between Jack, his family, and Marty, and they spent about an hour in our barn, getting to know each other, laughing, talking, and even crying…So much happiness, love and even grief in the room for Jack that ultimately ended in a decision for a loving exchange of homes for him. A beautiful and heartfelt goodbye was arranged for the next day, and Jack went off to his new home with Marty, where he now lives outside of Fort Bragg, with goats who snack on the Apple trees, and where Marty hosts daily apple hour for everyone!

This brings us so much joy and keeps us doing what we do! ❤️❤️❤️

Our hearts are literally BURSTING with this news! Our delightful PUDDIN’ Puddin’ Pot Pie, Puddin’ Gurl, Ms. P., has been ADOPTED!!! 🥹💖🌸💝🐾

Way back in June, we rescued Puddin’, and she was this sweet, fluffy, sugarball of love. She was super affectionate with people, but not with other dogs, as she had been attacked by dogs before she came to us. We knew she needed a quiet, predictable home with loving, reliable humans and no other pets…Enter one of our incredible volunteers; a Cuddler, who noted that after a small surgery Puddin’ had, that she needed a calm place to recover for a bit, and offered to foster her! During that time, both she and her husband noticed how quickly and comfortably Puddin’ settled in, and how easily she found her way into their hearts. 🥰 It didn’t take long before they fell in love with her and wanted to make her a permanent member of their family! 🥹❤️

Over 6 months with us, but Puddin’ found her forever home, thanks to some amazing and huge-hearted people! Congrats to all!!! This is why we do what we do! 💗

Happy endings do exist. 💝

Our sweet Travis Boy has been officially adopted!!! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

If this doesn’t warm your heart, we’re not sure what will! 😉🥰

Travis’ fosters decided to adopt him and here’s what they had to say, (it’s just SO sweet) “Bringing Travis into our home has brought the light, love, laughter and companionship that only a dog can provide. We have been looking for seven years for the right dog, after we lost our beloved Goldens, and Travis, with his big brown eyes, and need for security, is our boy. We are a disabled household, and Travis sitting by our side has brought a lot of joy. Thank you, Lily’s, for our Christmas gift.” 🎁 🥹❤️

Let’s take a second look at Tiny Tim! T squared, TT, TBone TBoy!

This little darling left us for a brief stint to hang at the amazing K9 Optima Training facility with Josh because we needed to get some insight as to what we were interpreting as insecure and mistrusting behaviors.

Our dogs get ALL the treatment at Lily’s. 😉 We don’t mess around, and we want to learn everything we can about our babies, so we can help them be their best, and so we can match them with the best. 💖

We learned that while Tiny Tim looks super cuddly, he’s what we like to call a slow burn. You get it…he likes to settle in and take some time to bond with someone before pouring on all the love, and before receiving all the coos and cuddles. Which, believe us, is hard! Cuz Tiny T is even cuter in person than in these photos. And he is as sweet as can be. 💗 But he starts as a pale pink heart, not a solid beating red heart. He’s a thinker and a cautious optimist, so we all can happily respect that. The beautiful thing is, once he’s established that he’s comfortable with you, he is a total sweetheart. 🤗

TT is an independent spirit, who enjoys doing his own thing, but loves knowing that his person is nearby. He may like to lie next to you with his body touching a part of yours, but doesn’t demand constant pets, or even attention. He tolerates other dogs, but really couldn’t care less about them, and the ideal home for him would be with a mellow person or couple, no young children, and a chill lifestyle.

TBoy needs his own home and hasn’t had one for a long time, so if chillin’ with him sounds like something you’d like to try, come meet him! Call us or email us; 707-787-7010; [email protected]
