What rhymes with MIA!? See ya? As in we can’t wait to see ya, Mia, because you are the most beautiful Rotti we’ve ever laid eyes on! 👀❣️

Please join us in ogling at this gorgeous girl who has just joined our pack. 🐾

Mia’s solitary life involved existing in an outdoor kennel, where she lived all alone, and essentially was fed meals by her owners. A next door neighbor observed this for some time feeling heartache, and finally became bold enough to approach the owners and ask them if they would surrender Mia to her, if she was able to find her a better life. Fortunately, Mia’s owners agreed, and the kind angel/neighbor got to work and contacted us! ❤️

When Mia arrived at Lily’s, she was SO friendly and happy to be here. She has the sweetest personality, and immediately showed us how good she is at entertaining herself by throwing a ball up in the air and catching it all by herself! 🎾 Sadly, this is probably a trick she learned as a result of her solitary life. But regardless, it is evident that Mia is an optimist and finds the good in things, and those solitary days are now a thing of the past! ☺️

We had to let our Chancy Boy go today. ❤️💔 There is no easy way to deliver this news, except to say we know it was the right thing to do.

We believe Chancy’s foster, Isabel, was an angel tailor-made for him. She rearranged her home and her life for Chancy, even researching supplements to make him more comfortable and less anxious during the time that she had him. But Chancy’s anxiety was increasing, and even on heavy medication, he had begun panting and pacing and was becoming disoriented more and more. It was heartbreaking to know Chancy was suffering this way, and we collectively made the decision to set him free.

Alice put it best when she said, “Our goal is to give a senior dog the best rest of his life; whether that’s two years, or two months.” We rescued beautiful Chancy from San Jacinto on June 7, 2024, and we endeavored to give him the best of everything we could. ❤️

Our hearts are heavy today, but most importantly, Isabel’s is. Please remember her in your thoughts and prayers. And run free, beautiful Chancy. We love you, and will never forget you. 🌈

Where do we even start with this zany girl? KODI came to us after we were contacted by a vet, who had been asked to help her owners find a solution for her, as they felt she was “too much” for them. 🤓

Further inquiries revealed that she was spending about 8-10 hours a day in her crate, and the vet realized she might be a better match with some peeps who would allow her to experience real life, and the rest as they say, is history! 😉

On Kodi’s first day, when we took her into our play area, she went right in the pool, 🐾 got out, did zoomies, grabbed a ball, 🎾 threw it up in the air with her mouth and caught it, gave kisses, 💋 and rolled in the grass! 🌳 It was a beautiful site to see! 😍

Kodi has some cattledog in her for sure. When you know, you know! 🐕 But she’s about 7, so while she’s spirited, she’s not hyperactive. She’s really just delightful, and seemingly experiencing all that life has to offer, perhaps for the first time! 💛 It’s very apparent that she wants a special person or family to call her own, and this breed is known for that, so if you’re looking to experience a strong lifelong bond, and a loyal and energetic addition to your family, Kodi would be an incredible consideration. ☺️ She’s good with other dogs and learning leash manners quickly.

We have the best update and info for you on our adorable, adoptable, amazing, Molly-Moo!

Molly has been in foster and her little true personality has come out and wowza, does she shine!

Her foster has this to say, “She’s a very sweet girl…always looking for affection and not afraid to ask for it…She loves to chase her ball and carry it around with her…And she follows me everywhere…”

Molly’s foster said Molly is great company, and there just weren’t enough words to convey what a good girl she is and what a joy it is to have her in her home. Molly gets along with her foster’s own dog, Dozer, and is a delight to have in her home.

Molly was surrendered by her owner, who could no longer care for her. She is 13 years old and about 40 pounds. She’s pretty irresistibly cute, so be prepared if you decide to come meet her! Call us to see for yourself! 707-787-7010; [email protected] 🐾❤️

Hi! From Valentina, our new, sleek and gentle Shepherd who was found wandering in the streets of San Francisco. Just look at that face! 😍

Valentina is petite, weighing just 54 pounds, and she could use some tlc. She’s got a fluffy undercoat we’re having fun brushing out, so we can showcase her silky, black velvety fur. She is really a stunner, with a heartwarming personality. She loves human attention, and gives out her love freely. Meet Zella! Look at this adorable Black Lab that came to us after her owner died. She’d been with her owner since she was a puppy, and was an emotional support dog. She is as lovely as can be! Just look at that last pic of her with one of our volunteers! 🥹🥰

Zella is 8 years young and about 80 pounds. We are just getting to know her, so stay tuned for updates!

We were alerted to a beautiful senior GSD in Kern who had been dumped near Bakersfield and was lame in her back legs. We were full at the time but wanted to help. We put the word out for a foster and found an angel willing to step up! We were able to pull this stunning girl named Danish, and off to the vet she went. There, they discovered a TEN POUND tumor impinging on her spine, among other things, that had to be removed, tho the surgery was very risky…We are beyond happy to tell you that she survived and is walking now and on the road to recovery! AND her foster is already so enamored with her that she wants to adopt her. 🥰 Due to the magnitude of the tumor and the complexity of the surgery, we are asking our followers if they might be willing to donate towards Danish’s veterinary care and hospital stay, which ran upwards of $5000.00. If you are able to donate, it’s an easy process off our website; lilyslegacy.org. If you are unable to donate, we understand. Pawsitive thoughts and prayers for Danish’s continued recovery would go a long way as we watch her continue to recover and thrive. 🌺

Wanda with the golden eyes that see with so much love. How does she do it? After being abandoned, then catching pneumonia at the shelter, coming to us where we almost lost her to her illness, and now having blossomed into this intuitive, cooperative, confident, compliant, caring, playful and loving rare and precious blooming flower, Wanda is as good as they get! Only better. 🌻 At 9-years old and just 64 pounds, she’s the perfect size for anyone! She’d fit in with a family, or a couple, or a single person looking for a sidekick to live life with. There’s something so special about this girl! Oh, and did we mention she has Grinch feet? A dog named Hunky Dory has gotta be extra special! And boy, he sure is! Look at this handsome, sweet goofball that came to us this week from SFACC, and everyone has fallen in love with him. HD is a 7-year old pitty mix, who was picked up as a stray and never claimed. All the feels came from Navarro’s adopter’s last update; “Navarro is doing so well. Yesterday, we started walking around our block twice a day, staying away from this heat. He is just so gentle and sweet…He did fantastic being in the crate for four hours today while I taught. He was just hanging out when I got home. We just got back all the professional photos that @kormylopuppyproject took for us, and since we are all so smitten with Gemma, we thought we’d share hers first in the hopes they might make you feel the same! 🥰 She’s such a darling girl. She just wants to be WITH you, and do whatever! It’s such a delight knowing this about her, and learning over time, that she is truly just a love whose personality can be shaped to some extent by her owner, as she aims to please. Gemma is 7, and about 80 pounds. She could use a strong leader on leash walks, and would love any and all adventures, including hikes and swimming too. ⭐️🤩⭐️🤩⭐️🤩⭐️🤩⭐️🤩⭐️🤩⭐️🤩 N A V A R R O 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 GOT ADOPTED!!!!! 🥳🎈🎉🍾 We have some of the best volunteers! And it just so happens that one of ours, (sweet Susan) fell head over heels for Navarro and introduced him to her husband Frank, who was smitten too! The challenge was that they were heading out for an extended vacay that had been on the books for months. They knew it wasn’t fair to stake claim to him while they were gone but they hoped and prayed he would be around when they returned, and he WAS! 🥰 They came and got him right away, and already had this to say, “It’s been seamless! He is easy-going, gentle and kind…he’s enjoying our large backyard, playing ball and relaxing in the shade. (We) are so grateful for Lily’s entrusting us with this special boy…” ❤️❤️❤️ Congrats all the way around!

Are you ready for some more groundbreaking great news!? We are beyond THRILLED to share that Sir Henry has been ADOPTED!!! 🎉🥳🎈🎊🍾 We were contacted by long-time supporters and prior adopters Beth and Briana, who were looking for a dog after their prior adoptee Lucy had passed. ❤️ They came to the sanctuary and took the time to meet a few prospects; one of which was Henry! And we are giddy to tell you that they loved him! They put it best when they said they were laid-back and chill, and they felt Henry would fit right in. Their first check-in was this, “He was an angel on the drive home…At night, he jumped onto our bed and slept with all of us…He is such a great boi and we already love him so much!” Could this be ANY better!? Dreams DO come true, Henry! 😍🥰🥹😩🩵

Gemma-gurl here! Imma’ still at Lily’s and thought I’d hop on today to say “hey,” and to try and win somebody over! I guess you could say sometimes I’m overzealous in that arena, but if smooches are my biggest downfall, then so be it! I dont know why my last family didn’t want me. I found myself at this terrifying, loud, concrete, dark, fenced-in zoo-like building called a “shelter” after being picked up off the street, where I’d been dropped off in the middle of the night. It was all bad until some angels saved me, and now I’m at Lily’s! 🩷 But I’m so eager to bond with a person or a family. I want to feel what that’s like! I have SO MUCH love to give. And I would protect those dear to me, and play with them too! I’m craving this connection so much! If you came and met me, I could show you how good I am.
