❤️😢🐾We lost a family member this week 🐾😢❤️
Picasso Jones was born in Xenia Ohio to Gabby & Able(last name unknown) on April 30th, 2012 at 4 Paws For Ability. He was a singleton puppy so without any siblings he got all the attention. Picasso passed away peacefully July 14th, 2024 with family by his side.

Picasso, like the painter, was born with a very special job & at a young age his owners knew he had a natural gift. He went to prison for a while to help the inmates learn to do productive things while giving him lots of love & to teach him obedience. Once he learned his obedience he went to college at Wright State University & gained his college degree. Picasso then went back to 4 Paws For Ability to major in becoming a seizure service dog for a sweet Girl, McKenna, who struggled with Dravet Syndrome- intractable epilepsy.

In 2013 Picasso sent the Jones Family to Xenia Ohio for two weeks to learn how to care for him. It was a bit of a challenge but everyone made it through. That’s when Picasso joined the Jones Family.

Picasso continued his job for several years until his health started declining in 2023. Over the years he had become a cranky old man that ruled the house & everyone in it. Even though Picasso never got over 12 pounds, everyone knew not to mess with him.

In his free time he loved to run circles as fast as he could, rub in the grass on his back, & run back & forth from his food bowl to the living area repeatedly. He liked to lay around his girl, Kenna or anyone else in the house that might not be feeling the best.

Picasso wouldn’t look at his family for days after taking him to the groomer, even though he loved her. He would give his family the evil eye often, making them wonder what they did to deserve that. He did this reverse hiccup thing at the most inconvenient times. He squealed from day 1 if anyone picked him up, he preferred all four feet on the ground.

Picasso was smart & trained well. He could be shot with a finger gun & fall over dead, he would sit, lay, roll over, fetch, & bark at a real or fake seizure. He could be taken anywhere, he was a licensed service animal registered with the ADA.

It took the entire community, extended family, & friends to make it possible for Picasso to become part of the Jones Family. They will forever be grateful for such an outpour of love in making Picasso possible. He was a great addition to their family & did his job very well for a long time.

Picasso is survived by his girl Kenna of the home, sister Deleah(Mario & Sira), brother Evan, human parents Frank & Michelle Jones, several four- legged family members, & lots of family & friends.

Picasso was preceded in death by his canine parents, two beloved parrots, & several four-legged family members.

Picasso is pictured rolling around at the bottom of the rainbow bridge, playing with all those he knew that went before him. He now has a healthy body & clear mind, & is taking full advantage of it having the best time!

Picasso is being cremated, a memorial will be held at a later date with brother Evan officiating.

In memory of Picasso we ask you to give your special four legged family members an extra treat today.

Story

We breed English Labs only. Our dogs are bred for good health and excellent temperaments. We always breed with the intention of bettering the breed, in hopes that each litter will be better and conform closer to the Breed Standard than the last litter. All our animals are part of our family. They all get lots of exercise & love daily. Sometimes I wonder if they realize they're not human. Puppies are handled with love from day one. They are raised in our home until they are old enough to go to their own suites. They interact with all ages of kids & all regular around the house noises including the train. This is what I like to do! We raise puppies as a family but I take great pride in raising such great pups & having the best dogs. There's just something about coming home & they're all happy to see us. Our four-legged family members know how to turn a rough day great quick. We strive to run a top of the line kennel for the animals. We've had previous puppies go to their forever homes that have become service dogs, therapy dog, hunting dogs, show dogs & great companions. We look forward to hearing from you soon! And when you’re in Mansfield we hope you stop by and visit.
