Decatur Animal Clinic At Decatur Animal Clinic we provide compassionate care for the pets of the Decatur area. We only see surgical appointments on Tuesdays.

From puppies and kittens to senior and geriatric pets, we focus on caring for the whole pet including comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. Our walk-in hours are:
Monday from 8:30am-11:30am and 2:00pm-5:00pm,
Wednesday from 8:30am-11:30am and 2:00pm-5:00pm,
Friday from 8:30am-11:30am and 2:00pm-4:30pm,
Saturday from 8:30am-11:30am. We are closed on Thursdays and Sundays.

We have been without a doctor several times recently, and Dr. Messamore apologizes for any inconveniences this has caused. Decatur Animal Clinic is a 1 doctor, family owned business and unfortunately that means our services are limited when he is unable to be here. Dr. Messamore has been attending an urgent family matter and has been in the office as much as possible. He and the rest of the staff appreciate your continued support and thank you for your understanding at this time.

Please give the office a call before heading in on 2/1/25, or watch the page for updates.

🍂🐾 Thanksgiving is a time for family, food, and gratitude! But remember, your furry friends deserve safe treats too. Here are some pet-safe Thanksgiving foods to share with your pets:

✅ Plain Turkey (no skin or seasoning) - A small amount of plain, cooked turkey is a great source of lean protein for your dog or cat.

✅ Sweet Potatoes - Rich in fiber and vitamins, sweet potatoes (without butter or spices) are a healthy choice.

✅ Carrots - A crunchy, low-calorie snack that your pet will love!

✅ Green Beans - Plain, cooked green beans are a low-calorie veggie that’s perfect for sharing.

✅ Pumpkin - Plain, cooked pumpkin is excellent for digestion (just avoid the sugary pie mix!).
