We said farewell to sweetie Annie
RIP Sweetheart know you're deeply loved and missed.

It has been 1 week since we had to say goodbye to our sweet Annie girl. Our hearts are broken by the loss and her impact on our lives. Now, could you understand why Mastiffs are called the heartbreak breed? Yes, she was huge. She was demanding. She was high maintenance. She was expensive. She was messy. And she was so much more. She LOVED to snuggle. She ALWAYS wanted to be near (on top of) us. She was emotionally "in tune" with us. She didn't like it when anyone was upset. She hid when anyone yelled. She nudged you for love if you were sad. She was protective. She would stand between me and any stranger. She didn't like the cold in the winter. She loved the fireplace. Walking at the conservancy with John was her favorite morning routine. She attempted to chase the pesky crows away. She swallowed a golf ball once. She loved ice cubes, burgers, and carrots. She refused to eat bananas but ate grapes and had to go to the emergency vet because of it. She busted out a screen in a window, barking at a delivery person. She would shake our entire king sized bed when she "ran" in her sleep. She snored like a middle-aged man. She loved pillows and blankets. She couldn't hear very well, but she could sniff out a meal, a stranger, a wild animal, unlike anything I'd ever seen. She needed more medications than Melman from Madagascar. She dragged Emma across a yard chasing a squirrel during a walk (one and only walk with Emma). She left major slobber on the car from sticking her head out of the window. She would bark and wine if she wasn't getting enough attention. She walked like an AT-AT from Star Wars, dragging her feet. She slept with her 15lb head on my stomach. She had ears as soft as velvet. She would sit her 165lbs on top of you like a lap dog. She would get sad and mope when she saw John getting ready to travel. She loved having her shoulders massaged.

Yes, she was all these things and more, but sadly, she was taken too soon. She gave us joy, love, and laughter in just 8 years and 9 months, and her cuddles and dog hugs are truly missed. 'I've never had a dog like her before and never will again. Annie Annie, one in a million, our sweet, gentle giant. Her huge size matches the huge void we now feel. 😢 We love and miss you, "P***y". 0/23/15 - 7/22/24.

We are fortunate and grateful to have Dr Ernst assist us with helping Sarge pass peacefully in our home. Thank you so much!

Sarge, we miss hearing your nails on the wood floor, your loud snoring, your 1 ear that flopped down, and your caring nature.

You were such a good boy! Being the only dog for 7 years was tough for you. Then we got 3 cats, and 3 years later, a baby arrived, and 3 years after that, another baby. Thank you for being flexible and welcoming to all the changes.

We hope your spirit is enjoying outer space with a dragon on Mars. We will never forget you or stop loving you!!

Farewell Sweet Scooter sweet dreams darling.

It's been a month now since we had to say goodbye to our bestest boy, Scooter.

We were so lucky to find him as a rescue almost 8 1/2 years ago. We knew he was our dog from the moment we met him, as he immediately burrowed underneath us when we knelt down to him.

Over those next 8+ years, we went on countless walks, dog parks, and adventures. Squirrels chased, balls fetched, socks collected - he took such joy in it all. He was the happiest little dog, with such a fire and personality about him.

There will always be days we miss him terribly, but we remind ourselves of all the lessons we learned from him. We will always love him, and he will always be a part of us.

Sweet dreams to our little potato loaf.🌈

We lost another angel,
Farewell, beautiful Rylie, you are so loved and missed.

I was asked to write a memorial for my pup and would love to do it.

We laid our beautiful girl Rylie down to rest on 7/7/24. It was not an easy decision by any means, but it was a decision we made for her. When I say my heart aches, I mean it hurts deep, relentlessly. Rylie was a $20 find on Craigslist 9 years ago, and man, I turned out to be the rich one in that exchange. Rylie helped me through so much, not just my own personal battles, but she moved across the country 2x, got thrown into having other dog roommates, and welcomed my 2 kids. My sweet, sweet girl is home now, in a different form that reminds me that death is inescapable, but she is home nonetheless.

Rylie, you taught me how to live. You showed me what strength is. You guided me to the sunlight, mostly because you liked to bake in it. You continue to help us by understanding and navigating the circle of life.

For those who knew her they knew her as loving, energetic, fast a heck, couldn't howl for anything, and obsessed...scratch that, addicted to balls. She had the greatest markings, 4 different types of socks. She was a blue heeler/Lab mix, and she truly had the best qualities of both breeds. She was stubborn and smart, playful and agile, protective and nurturing, and so much more. Nothing will adequately describe the depth of love and appreciation I have for her and always will have. I love you, Rylie. The best, but of course, not enough, 9 years were spent with you by my side. Thank you.

We said goodbye to sweet Harley.
Fly high, sweetheart.

On May 1, 2024, we lost the best dog ever, Harley. She would have been 15 years old on July 12. Her quirky personality brought us so much joy. Harley's favorite things to do were playing with her tennis ball and visiting the neighbors who loved her like family. She had many friends in the neighborhood, but her best friend was her cousin Bailey, another lab.

When it came time to make the most difficult decision, we called it Peaceful Passage. Dr. Ayrika White-Mfoudi came to our house, and with compassion, she helped our girl cross over. We were very grateful to be able to say goodbye to her where she was most comfortable.

Leo died on Tuesday, May 28th.

We want to thank the Peaceful Passage staff and Dr. Ernst for guiding us through this difficult time with kindness, compassion, and caring. Our sweet Leo did not like leaving the house, especially to go to the vet. We are very grateful we were able to give him a calm passage in Leo’s favorite place, his home. We really appreciated the handwritten note Dr. Ernst sent afterward.

To our sweet boy,
We miss you greeting us at the door, endless sofa snuggles, and the pitter-patter of your little feet.
