Callie: The Heart of Our Home Callie wasn’t just a dog—she was the soul of our home. A beautiful white Boxer with a little nub of a tail and a big black spot on her right side, she had a way of making every day brighter. Her whole body would wiggle with joy when Dad came home, even if he’d only been gone for ten minutes. And in the quiet evenings, her favorite place in the world was with her head tucked gently into his lap as he watched TV. That was her safe place, and it felt like ours, too. She loved frozen peanut butter bones and could play catch like a pro. Chasing squirrels was serious business, and barking at Amazon trucks was practically her job. She loved everyone we loved—without hesitation, without limits. Her basket of squeaky toys was one of her treasures, and she always knew exactly which one she wanted. Watching her dig through it to find the perfect toy was one of the little things that made us laugh and love her even more. When she was outside and wouldn’t come in, all it took was the magic whistle from Dad—and she’d come running, every time. Callie gave us so much. She gave us comfort, loyalty, laughter, and the kind of unconditional love that only a dog can give. She filled the corners of our lives with her warmth and personality, and even now, we can still feel her presence in those quiet spaces she once filled so easily. She was ours. And we were hers. Always.
