Otis’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. This sweet 3-year-old Beagle was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Swainsboro, Georgia, where he was abandoned after a traumatic injury to his hind left leg. Facing euthanasia due to the severity of his injuries, Otis’s future looked bleak—until Home for Good Dog Rescue stepped in.

Determined to give him the best chance, we brought Otis to an orthopedic specialist in Columbia, South Carolina. Though the damage to his leg was too extensive to save it, Otis’s incredible spirit shone through. He breezed through his surgery with resilience and recovered like a champ from his leg amputation surgery, thanks to the love and care provided by his amazing foster family. Now, this inspiring pup is ready for a forever home of his very own.

At 25 pounds, Otis is fully grown and perfectly portable. He hasn’t met a dog or person he didn’t love—his joyful, easy-going personality makes him everyone’s best friend. He also gets along well with cats! With his charming "old man personality," Otis’s favorite things include lounging in comfort and sharing his adorable goofy antics with his humans.
