We know this will warm your heart during this frigid 🥶 weather! 🥰 Our friend, Kay Campbell Beggerly, was driving and saw little Elsie’s body on the side of the road. Kay first thought Elsie was deceased…but then she saw her barely lift her head. ❤️🩹 Kay picked her up and rushed her to the where Dr. Simpson got to work. We weren’t sure she would survive the night, but as we all know, dogs are the most resilient souls. ✨ Once we got her through the first few days, we asked Kay to foster her so Elsie could rest and heal in a home environment; Elsie was a and has been thriving with her ever since. 🎰🤩🏡

For all of you who were so touched by the love and devotion of Julie Price and her family for their beloved Bella… we wanted to let you know that yesterday Bella laid down for a nap with her human brother and she didn’t wake up. 🐾💔 She couldn’t have had a more peaceful exit, which is a blessing, but her family is walking through the heart-shattering pain of her transition. Please keep them in your prayers. 🙏🏽
For those of you who don’t know the story of Bella… Bella was surrendered by her family to the just over two years ago, and they said they didn’t care if she was euthanized …they did not want her. 🤯 After spending a year with us, Bella had stopped playing in the yards, and no matter what we did to lift her up, it was obvious that she was depressed. 😔 Last December, we posted our beautiful Bella girl with her story… desperate to find Bella’s family. When Julie Price saw the post, she knew “Bella is coming home…she is our girl!” 🎰 🏡
The next year was a dream 💭 for Bella and the Price Family! She went everywhere with them…even on their beach vacations. 🏝️
In October, they noticed she was struggling to breathe, and she was diagnosed with Chylothorax. On November 1, Bella had a “thoracic duct ligation” surgery— a major surgery to close off the duct allowing fluid to go into her chest. Bella recovered like a champ but within a month, her lungs were filling up again and she most likely wouldn’t have survived another surgery. So the Price’s have been soaking up every moment with their Bella Bleu… and as much as they are hurting now, they would do it all over again because the LOVING and being LOVED by Bella was one of the greatest gifts of their lives…and she will live on in their hearts forever. ❤️🙏🏽🐾💫💔

One of the BEST things to happen in 2023– and possibly ever— for the was this extraordinary gift from our dear friend, Bill Parker!! 🙏🏽🥳 Bill and his beloved wife, Beth, were involved with our shelter from the very beginning; prior to her passing 💔 Beth asked Bill to please look after our shelter. 💫🙏🏽 When Bill asked us earlier this year what we most needed, we said “a transport van!” 🚐 He was honored to make this happen, and at any given moment, you may find us gazing 🥹 with pride and gratitude at our beautiful van, which is wrapped with our West Point Clay County Animal Shelter animals! 🐾😻 Our new van has already helped us transport so many animals to their forever homes, and we are 🏋🏽 pumped 🏋🏻♀️ to think about all our future transports in it! 🚐

Imagine our surprise when we saw these newborns on his floorboard. He said “I have no use for them.
