The Lakeside Spay and Neuter Center, AC (located in Ajijic / Chapala) was started in 2001 when there was an imperative need to help the many abandoned and abused dogs in our area. Through the efforts of many in the Lakeside community, our Ranch (a no-kill shelter) became a haven for some of the most at need Lakeside dogs. We have spayed and neutered thousands of dogs, nursed sick and starving dogs

back to health, found forever homes for many of our animals, and loved and cared for the ones who didn't find homes. This could only have been accomplished by our cadre of dedicated volunteers. In our “Continuing Adventures of Romulus, the World Traveler,” 🌎 our canine hero 🐕 scouts out any impending dangers and all things grass on his morning walk in the UK mist. 💕🐶 Then it’s home to the costume shop, where he is readied for Halloween by his human assistants!🎃

Two of Romulus’s siblings, Ramses and Ramona, are still available at The Ranch, as is his lovely mama Roma. Wouldn’t you love to make them as happy and famous as Romulus? Seriously, this family was clearly born for stardom❣️

This means refrigerated storage of our dog food, vaccines and meds are in peril and will need to be replaced! Lightning is likely the culprit for knocking out our inverter. It will be at least 3 weeks to be running at 100% again. This means being resourceful with coolers courtesy of our amazing staff and volunteers making this happen!
