The Lakeside Spay and Neuter Center, AC (located in Ajijic / Chapala) was started in 2001 when there was an imperative need to help the many abandoned and abused dogs in our area. Through the efforts of many in the Lakeside community, our Ranch (a no-kill shelter) became a haven for some of the most at need Lakeside dogs. We have spayed and neutered thousands of dogs, nursed sick and starving dogs

back to health, found forever homes for many of our animals, and loved and cared for the ones who didn't find homes. This could only have been accomplished by our cadre of dedicated volunteers. 5 dogs are in need of their Ticket to Ride on Angel The Red Bus in just a couple of weeks! Presleigh, Ramona, Roma, Siri and Wilcox are all youngsters ready for their chance of a whole new world in the PNW.

For a donation of $250 USD, you can provide a dog’s bus ride to a better life!
Your "Ticket to Ride" will help cover:
🐾 Transportation costs
🐾 Veterinary care & travel documents
🐾 Food & supplies for the journey

We already have 6 of our dogs who have been given their official Ticket to Ride including Daisy! Thank you to Pam and Jeff Bundy for your donation. ❤

Daisy is around 3 years old and is just about as cute as they come. She is a tiny bit of a wallflower, but only because she is a somewhat cautious girl who wants to know exactly what she is getting into! Once she sees how awesome you are with affection, pats, and maybe even treats (ooh!), she quickly laps up attention and sits for cuddles. She is very good on leash, being dainty and feminine, and she is a quick and attentive learner. Daisy is extremely sweet-tempered and is curious by nature, investigating her surroundings as well as other dogs nearby. As a perfectly mid-sized dog, Daisy is a medium shedder and will be a great fit for just about any person or family. Come pick this precious flower! 🌼

In its 7th year, volunteers make the pilgrimage to transport dogs to a new future.
Every day, countless stray and abandoned dogs in Mexico dream of a second chance—a loving home where they can feel safe, cared for, and cherished. Right now, we have an opportunity to make that dream a reality!

With your support, we can transport these deserving pups from Mexico to Oregon, where they’ll have a much higher chance of adoption. The only thing standing in their way? The cost of the journey.

Alice is riding The Red Bus this month! She was left on our property in 2023 with seven (oh my!) pups, and she was a model mama for her now-grown kids. What a sweet, loving dog she is. Alice has a happy, spirited gal and will cuddle right up to you for pats and scratches. In true lab style, Alice likes to investigate; she also learned "sit" and "down" very quickly, and she loves those treats! So she will be a quick study for any kind of training. Alice is very good on leash and would be a great daily walk companion. Alice is good with other dogs, cats and will be a fun addition to any family! DM us if you are interested in Alice and we can connect you with the rescue in Portland, OR. Alice has received her Ticket to Ride, courtesy of our own Syd Sullins! Current chapter in “The Continuing Adventures of Romulus, the World Traveler” — first snow day! This boy sure is loving life, as well as his wonderful family who are clearly taking spectacular care of him. 💕🐶

WE NEED DOG WALKERS!💕🐶 We had no volunteers at The Ranch today, boo hoo!😢 Look how much Canela is enjoying her walk — and on such a lovely, cool morning, on our beautiful, lush trails. Please come join us if you have an hour or two free any day between 9:30 and 12:30. There’s nothing like a doggy fix to start your day off right! 🐕💚

Our Gracie has learned to greet visitors with a firm handshake, thanks to the dedicated attention and training given to her by Donna Fleming! Thanks, Donna❣️🐶🐾
