Knox County Humane Society Luminaries 2023
Each luminary lit, goes directly towards helping a shelter pet. It’s a wonderful way to honor all of the past and current pets that we all love so dearly.

Moses enjoyed the nice day we had yesterday by having some fun outside. This big guy is a huge fan of anything that will keep him occupied. So much fun to be around! 🎾🐾
We had our first snow fall of the season and it’s safe to say that Goliath sure is happy about it! ❄️
Meet Gordon!
Two days ago, November 22nd, had officially marked the one year mark since Gordon had originally entered our shelter. Gordon entered our shelter as a stray that was never claimed. He entered with severe skin issues that we started treating immediately. Throughout the first few months, we developed a routine and diet for him that healed him beautifully. He was then adopted in March of 2023 to what we thought would be his forever home. The first couple of weeks after being adopted, Gordon had check-ins and he was happy and thriving. It wasn’t until July, that he was brought back to our shelter after a neighbor had brought him in. Gordon had been severely neglected and his allergies and diet hadn’t been attended to like we were promised. He came back in worst conditions than we had ever seen him and to say the least, it was utterly devastating. Throughout the last 4 months, he has been back on his proper diet and care and is now the best he’s ever been. Not only is he now the healthiest, but also the happiest as well.
He is toy obsessed and knows the routine of getting a new toy every morning after his outside time. He even gives himself the pleasure of picking it out himself. He really is a good boy who finally deserves his happy ending.

Meet Shrek!
We’ve had a very sad but special case here at our shelter and we would love for everyone to finally meet him.
Meet Shrek! We received Shrek after we were contacted due to him being removed from a home due to neglect. He lived in a terrible and inhumane situation that caused him to have severe skin issues and a declining bill of health. The extent of his skin was to the point where he had many open areas and we could tell that he was uncomfortable. His treatment has included in him getting a scheduled bath routine that has played a huge role in his skin recovering. Each time, he is more and more grateful and he’s sure to let us know. There’s nothing he loves more than a fresh and clean blanket, he really does enjoy the smallest of things. Shrek is not close to the end of his recovery, but we’re sure that he would love to finish recovering in the comfortable home that he very much deserves.

Our Stella who could easily be labeled as one of the sweetest girls ever. Yesterday marked two months of her being here and as much as we enjoy this beautiful girl, we hope she gets her happy ending soon! She has so much love to offer, she would love to be your forever friend ❤️
These three little ones are needing forever homes! They are approximately around 7 weeks old and are completely weaned off of their mama and are currently eating soft food and kitten chow. They are all females. We have many cats and kittens needing forever homes, please stop by the shelter from 12-4:30pm to meet them!
For anyone looking for a feline companion, we have the ABSOLUTE sweetest guy here at the shelter who is needing a home! Meet Cha-Ching! 💵 This guy is so dreamy, absolutely adores head scratches and to be loved on. He has recently entered our shelter after he was left on the property of someone who has unfortunately passed away. He is a larger guy, currently weighing 13 pounds and 13 ounces. We are in awe of Cha-Ching here at the shelter so whoever ends up with him will for sure hit the jackpot with a loyal friend. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and has been feline tested. Come on out and meet him during adoption and viewing hours!

Jack & Willow enjoyed some playtime yesterday. This was the first time these two met and they absolutely enjoyed it! Both dogs are very sweet and are available for adoption!
