Is your pet scooting or licking their rear? It could be their a**l glands.
A**l glands are located on the rear of dogs and cats. The glands produce an oily, fishy-smelling fluid that helps with scent marking. Sometimes these glands can get impacted or infected.
Soft, consistent stool, as well as allergies, are common causes of irritation. If your pet is scooting, licking excessively, or showing signs of discomfort around their rear end, contact us! We will help to identify the cause and determine the best course of treatment.
Scheduling your pet’s next visit with us has never been easier with our new Happy Healthy Pets™ app. Book or view upcoming appointments any time.
