Thanksgiving is one of the busiest weeks of the year. Thanks to everyone for coordinating and allowing the dogs to have such a great time. It was also Time to Say Goodbye to Lady G. Lady G headed back home to Georgia to be with her family.

Stop the whispering! Dogs can understand approximately 165 words, highly intelligent dogs up to 250. Communication is more than sit and stay. Engaging with your dog verbally allows them to learn intonation and body language as well. Its a whole new level of understanding! ***video of Tilly catching her frisbee because she makes me play everyday**

Ruby ❤. When this little deaf girl arrived she had a lot to overcome. She was scared. Didn't like men. Shut down and had no way to communicate.

I can honestly say the changes Ruby has made are astounding. The love she shows me, a man, is a LOT. Kisses all day long and endless demands to be rubbed. If I am feeling overworked and tired out, Ruby puts a smile on my face. She responds to signs and hand signals. She tells me when she wants to go out. She tells me when she wants fresh water. She tells me when its time for bed and snacks. I understand her signs and signals as well 😁

She plays with me like a cat, chasing my hand which ends in belly rubs. She plays with the other dogs and teases them in a cute way every day. And for some reason all the big dogs love her and treat her with respect.

She is a great brunch buddy as well.

Behavior tip:

Try not to focus on trying to immediately "fix" the challenging behavior you and your dog are dealing with. Whether it is difficulty leash walking, aggression toward strangers or greeting strange dogs. Instead work on daily structure, eleviating anxiety and opening a path to communicate clearly.

Making change can be tedious and exhausting at times. Take lots of breaks. Focus on the good behavior and try again tomorrow. Behavior changes everyday. Structure and communication are the best way to start creating positive behavior changes.
