Don’t underestimate how anxiety provoking the 4th (heck, the whole month of July) can be for our four-legged friends!! 🎆 Fireworks are scary AF to most dogs and we wish we could rent a house in the middle of nowhere & throw a huge no-fireworks pawty…. maybe one day. Until then:
PLEASE
🌟 Head to petmicrochiplookup.org to check if your dog’s microchip is up to date
🌟 Do not take your dog to watch fireworks. Sound exposure >140dB can be physically painful (not to mention traumatizing) and cause irreversible hearing loss :(
🌟Stay home with your pets as much as you can (especially in the evenings) to comfort them, or book a dog walk to give them comforting facetime & love if you’re headed out.
🌟 Take this seriously
Here are some of our fave anxiety-reducing products to help promote calmness:
👉🏻 Calming Bites (they also make a cat version!)
👉🏻 Dohm White Noise Machine is king IYKYK
👉🏻 compression clothes. These work wonders for some dogs but can actually cause more stress in other dogs, so test them out beforehand.
👉🏻 Frozen kongs and toppls to keep your dog distracted
Everything is linked in our Firework Prep Amazon list — we got you! ❤️
