Nomad At Home, LLC We offer daily dog walking and drop-in visits for pets as well! Hi, I'm Missy, owner of Nomad At Home. Nomad At Home is where the two can intersect!

Nomad At Home provides housesitting services that range from simple looking after house plants, feeding fish, & bringing in mail to extensive care taking of all sorts of animals and gardens. A few years after graduating with my Bachelors, living in Florida, I started feeling stuck. I began traveling around the US for a few years working on various types of farms and petsitting/dogwalking. This was

not entirely foreign to me when I started, having grown up on a dairy farm in Eastern Pennsylvania. But eventually I came to a crossroads... As much as I love farming, I also grew to love traveling in my van and the nomadic lifestyle. Animal care experience includes dairy cows, horses, llamas, sheep, goats, chickens, and of course DOGS. Gardening and permaculture skills come from years of study and hobby as well as time spent as an apprentice on a sustainable commercial vegetable farm. I travel in my much-loved conversion van with my own rescue pup named Rosie. She is a Chihuahua mix and you are sure to see her in many of the Nomad At Home photos! Rosie has spent lots of time on farms with me and is used to being around all animals mentioned above.

We know you’re HUNGRY for a response to your messages/emails/etc. please have patience with us and be aware that our administrative team consists of one person who also does the taxes and the bookkeeping and the payroll and is out in the field taking care of animals right alongside our whole team :). Keep in mind that we are NOT a last minute/emergency service provider especially if you are not an existing client. We help wherever we can but 3 weeks or less notice is considered last minute for any type of vacation/out of town care and we may not be available. If you are inquiring about services many months from now - yay!! Please allow us a couple of days to look into scheduling and give you a definite confirmation. Petsitting and dog walking scheduling is like a big puzzle and it takes concentration sometimes which means we can’t at a glance give you an answer while we’re out and about walking dogs and feeding farms and scooping litter boxes. Thank you and we will be in touch so soon!!!

NOW THAT IT’S OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL
 congratulations to my latest snow-loving foster “Moon”, now Daisy, on being adopted to a family that already loves her SO much! As you can tell from the abundance of photos she was so much fun to have here during this transition period. Her new mom & dad scooped her up as soon as they could and I’m extremely happy to say that Daisy will be part of our weekly walk family at Nomad At Home. If you want to see who got lucky enough to call her theirs you’ll have to make your way through ALL the pictures til the end 😜

While we fortunately do not hear as many pet sitters receiving this request anymore, this is your regular reminder to say "NO" to requests to just check on a client's cat every other day.

Remember, you are a professional pet-care provider with professional standards.

Anything can happen when pets are left alone—and cats are no exception. From potentially lethal ailments like the urethral blockage to potential home damages from a cat accidentally loosening a water hose behind a washing machine, not checking on a cat daily while the owner is away can have costly—or tragic—consequences for your business—and the cat.

Happy New Year everyone!

So grateful for all of the pets we will see through 2025. Thinking of the families that are entering the new year without a beloved member of their family đŸŒˆđŸŸâ€Š whether this has been the first holiday season without them, or it’s something you have already gone through before. We know every year will bring a different loss, but we will also meet new puppies, kittens, and all kinds of new friends! And when it feels like the world has forgotten your pet that you still miss so much, just know we remember 💜

*old video* This seems so obvious to me and I’m sure to other pet professionals, but from interactions I’ve had with some pet owners and ESPECIALLY from reading the comments on dog videos i see online, i know that more people out there need to see and hear this. Even though Dexter and Melon live together and have never been in a serious fight before and these bones are always out, I did not like the body language I saw here with this bone involved. I took this video quickly for the owners to see then immediately took that bone away and split them up and distracted them with some separate play/attention/other toys. Nothing escalated after this video. If you are hiring a professional caretaker for your dogs, they need to have an understanding of dog body language and be able to alert you of these types of things going on. Sometimes dogs act differently in the absence of their owners! For the sitter’s safety and for your pet’s, it is very important to recognize these things! #dogbehavior #dogbodylanguage #professionalpetsitter #boxer #pitbull #blinddog

That time at the farm i was working on, i kept seeing mysterious Lop rabbits hopping around with the other animals. They did not belong to the owner of this farm. They remained a mystery besides the assumption that the neighboring farmer was just very irresponsible allowing domesticated rabbits to breed freely and be loose in the wild (where they would surely be taken by predators).
