This season started out really good. I managed to hold back 15 Bielefelder pullets saved back for next Spring. They were getting to to lay when I noticed they were getting picked off. So now I have less birds than what I started with at the beginning of the season. I guess no more free ranging till I figure it out. On the bright side I will be raising a need breed of high layers called Hyline. I'm getting 25 pullets to grow out over the Winter. Here are a few pics of them grown and pics of their big brown eggs from my friend in Texas. I'm really excited about this new breed.

I think I have decided to keep this bird. Not sure if it is goose or gander, I had thought gander but now not so sure. They can change so much in 2 weeks time.
