Thank you to all of you for your advice and support!! I had my meeting for brace fitting and Maisy let me put the brace on and she did great walking in it!!! I'm so so proud of her and happy that it wasn't near as a big problem as I had thought it was going to be!

Hello all! It’s me again!

So yesterday we had our 2 month followup and routine vet check up for Bella.. yes our vet had a Photo Booth so we HAD to try it in pic 2..
so as I posted in the past.. our vet was very set on us getting surgery for Bella.. how braces don’t work, slide, don’t stay in place.. this was June 20th when we seen him last. Yesterday he was astonished with how well she is doing!
She is about 75% weight bearing with and without the brace. We took the brace on and off so he could look at it.. he took pics of it.. He said she is doing better than most dogs who do not do surgery a year out from Injury. We explained the whole process we have experienced, lead time, the zoom appointments, and price. We talked the supplements we have her on the whole 9 yards! We offered to talk to other families in our community who this may be a better route for them.

So you CAN be the one who breaks the mold and show their is other options. Yes we understand Bella is young at 3, we still have rough days and still have a long journey ahead. But trust your gut and what is best for your dog and family.

so date of injury was June 18th, took her to the vet the 20th, started wearing her Posh brace July 15th for dates..

Many Dog Parents Do Not Want To Get Dog Knee Surgery On Their Dog.

Oh my what a journey! We’ve been through hell and back for our boy Bubba. Absolute Hell. He is 8 yo German Wirehaired Pointer and was an extreme athlete. When I say extreme he could run beach 4 miles, jump 4 ft onto picnic tables, 2 mile slow paced bicycle jogs, and swim in pacific for hours.

We think our dog was originally injured at our veterinarian (of many years) Bubba was adopted two years ago and has an absolutely fear based violent reaction to the veterinarian visits. We were doing fantastic with CM (confinement and leashed at all times) then Bubba got a UTI around Christmas. Off to emergency 2 x where he was reinjured, at same time he was punching plaster, broke free from vet techs.

PLEASE take CM seriously, screw the vets. They told me the same thing, but through supplements, and now bracing… WOW! We are experiencing a miracle recovery.

We’ve been at this 8 months now but only recently started bracing- it’s a game changer. We give no Gabapentin, Trazadone, or Gallaprant (the trazadone literally made my dog violent- it’s was a nightmare).

So many different people, different financial backgrounds, different types of dogs have success without surgery. Honestly I am so greatly impressed with this bracing and the behavior modification advice and supplement/nutrition help, I truly believe Bubba is out of horrible pain and on his way to recovery!
