Heartworm drugs may give you a false sense of security. Here's what you need to know:

🐾 Mosquitoes are becoming resistant to heartworm meds, meaning dogs can still get heartworm despite treatment.

❗️ These drugs are wrongly marketed as “prevention” when they only target heartworm larvae. If the worms are already adults, the meds won’t help.

⚠️ Heartworm drugs are neurotoxic, leading to serious side effects like vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and even neurological issues.

🔍 Instead of unnecessary meds, ask your vet for a microfilariae test to detect heartworms.

First photo we had him shampooed and sitting with it on to help soothe his irritated skin. If your pet has special shampoo you like to use for bathing I always encourage we use it otherwise I have my own products.

Pepper joined us again at the house today. We were excited to have her again. She was back to patrolling the grounds from the window to make sure no enemy squirrels were going to bust in then the rest of the time she just took naps and hung out with the kids. She tried to sneak some hot dogs. She rolled all over a freshly laundered bed as well. We will miss her and wish her family safe travels back to Arizona.

Where pets feel at home! This sweet beagle girl is Pepper. She got to hang out with us today while her parents went out on a day trip. She was intent on guarding the premises from the squirrels that normally ran the grounds. She checked out all the doors and windows to make sure they knew she was keeping watch. She snuggled up with the kids when she knew the little rodents wouldn't storm the castle. She did her rounds of patrolling when outside as well. She got lots of scratches and belly rubs while loading us with kisses. We all enjoyed her visit and look forward to seeing her soon.

With hot and humid weather upon us remember pets and children should not be left in your vehicles. Temperatures can raise quickly and cause death.

‘tis the season we start getting numerous calls about pets 🐾 being left in hot vehicles.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 🫵 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: please be responsible and never leave your pets or young children alone in a vehicle! The inside of a car can reach deadly temperatures ☀️ in a matter of minutes and land you in jail if you’re caught being irresponsible.

I have been wanting to make bath bombs for dog paws for a while and finally accomplished it. I do want to make bigger ones and offer then to clients, family and friends for their dogs as well as use them for grooming pups with paw allergies during their bath. These would be single soaks in those Paw cups.

These are made with coconut oil, baking soda, Himalayan Salt, epsom salt and citric acid. I was going to add an essential oil but I know some pups have sensitivities. They smell great and have left my hands feeling soft just after making them.

My next step is to make a Salve for after the Paw soak. The ingredients used have benefits for paws and help with Paw issues.

I am so excited about this book. It has such great information and recipes. If you haven't checked out this book you need to. I had fed my dog raw for the last 8 years and have delved further into a more holistic lifestyle for him and my clients. I continue to research to help out other people to get to the bottom of an issue rather than always rushing for an over the counter drug that a lot of times just masks the issue. A lot of issues are due to poor quality food and over vaccination. But we all do what we can.
