🚐 Transport to New Jersey $2000 🚐
This is the most critical need. It is the crux of the Home for Good mission. Rescued dogs and puppies in the South are taken to our Almost Home Wellness Center in Aiken, South Carolina. Once healthy enough to travel, they will be transported to our facility in New Jersey to live in loving foster families until adopted in their ‘home for good’. Between the van transports and volunteer airplane flights, we bring about 90-100 dogs to New Jersey each month. In 2024, we found forever homes for 900+ dogs. Each ground transport costs the rescue $2000. Sponsoring a transport includes naming an upcoming litter and HFG swag!
🩺 Emergency Life-Saving Surgeries $1000 🩺
Home for Good supports various medical surgeries required to save many of the dogs’ lives. We remain committed to giving every dog a second chance no matter how dire the circumstances. Some examples of these surgeries in 2024 were: leg amputations, embedded collars and gunshot wounds, birth defects caused by genetic disorders, and mammary tumors in nursing mama dogs. The average cost of these surgeries in the South was $1000.
❤️ Heartworm disease Treatment Sponsor $500 ❤️
Heartworm disease occurs in a dog when bitten by an infected mosquito. Within several months, heartworms develop within the dog and start restricting organ function starting with the heart, moving to the lungs, and eventually all other organs. Heartworm disease is lethal. Without this treatment, all infected dogs will ultimately die from Heartworm disease. Treatment in the South is cost-prohibitive, therefore, these dogs are often the first to be euthanized. Home for Good saved over 50 Heartworm Positive dogs in 2024. 🐶 Spay / Neuter Sponsor $250 🐶
We spay and neuter all of our dogs to limit the population of unwanted animals and reduce the risk of puppies being born in impoverished areas with little chance of having this surgery. To save costs, rescued pups are most often spayed or neutered at a low-cost spay/neuter clinic in South Carolina prior to being transported to New Jersey.
💉 Vaccine Box Sponsor $100 💉
A sponsored Vaccine Box contains 3 vaccinations required for the optimal health of puppies prior to adoption. Adults require one vaccine, and we inoculate them for Distemper and Bordetella as well.
🦴 Food sponsor $50 🦴
It cost us $50 to feed a dog or a puppy for 1 month at our Almost Home Wellness Center in Aiken, South Carolina, prior to them being transported to NJ. Proper nutrition is a top priority for all pups who come through Home for Good.
