We have a small farm in Chilton County, AL with Nubian goats and chickens. We love to make and share goat milk soap that we make with milk from our happy goats!

These two bucklings from Fire Barrel Farm Heart Breaker went to their new farm yesterday. The brown and tan spotted one was from Jabri Farms Jolene and the black and white from God’s Little Mountain Sweetie. They will be missed!

Our solid black nubian “Coal” went to his new home today. He is going to be loved and top dog at his new farm. 🥰 He will be missed.

I thought I’d share some pics from around the farm. This year, I worked at making our farm a happy place for pollinators. Our orchard, vegetable garden, berries and grapes are really starting to grow.

It was an eventful morning when these two babies tried to be born at the same time! It was the most involved I’ve ever been in a goat birth! I am so thankful to have 2 healthy babies and momma, because it was scary for a little while until I was able push baby #2 back in and pull out baby #1 whose legs were stuck.

Our kidding season is halfway over. We have 3 healthy boys and one healthy girl! Two more births should happen this month. This year we did experience our first breech birth that I had to assist with. Unfortunately, the little buckling was still born, but momma is doing well. Beautiful afternoons like today are priceless!

Cute babies! Who’s ready for spring?

Last night, I woke up to the hollering. The time has arrived!!! We should have some babies in 5 months or so. Sounds really cute, but today’s task was to put Warcry with the 2 in heat. This meant a lot of blubbering, tongue flapping and tail wagging 😆. Not so cute!!! Lol To my surprise one of our younger ones went in heat too and Warcry had to check her out when he passed by. Don’t worry, she was put up away from him 😆
