Gus struggled with his self control. Teaching him to wait for his food helped with that a lot.
Zoe checks in constantly while practicing loose leash walking with Jay.
Practicing loose leash walking with Phoenix. Look how she keeps checking in with Jay. Good girl!
Snoop loves his food so much that he practically inhales it. Feeding him from a slow feeder makes him take more time to finish his meal. He still eats frantically, but now it takes him almost 10 minutes to finish when before it took him literally seconds.
Lucy is getting better and better dog manners. Nova is helping her burn off any excess energy to help her become more calm. She's learned to stay out of our dogs' faces and is much more respectful of them and their space.
Wrestle time for the littles. I interrupted when it got too intense and then allowed them to play again.
Dan's cheering on the little ones while they play. He's in heaven!
Nova is wearing out Tony. He's just learning the chase game, but he'll have it down by the time he goes home. #puppyfun #chasetime #campk9wnc
Look at our smart trainee, Raleigh! She goes right into her crate when she comes in from outside. What a good girl! She has some self control issues, so she has a citronella training collar on. We don't even have to use the citronella part of the collar anymore, just a beep to remind her to stay on task. We are so proud of her!
Thank goodness for Nova's energy! After she wore Cody out, she ran with Swasey. Working on socialization!
Cody and Nova had a great time playing chase!
Play time for Ziggy! He goes home tomorrow. We sure will miss him!
Finley is learning appropriate ply from the other dogs. She's really come a long way already.
Archie is having a blast in the snow! You can hardly see him. LOL
Finley's last night here. He's come so far in his comfort level around other dogs! We sure will miss him!
When dogs play, they can get too caught up in the play and that can escalate, even with dogs who like each other. So we interrupt the play several times when we see things are getting too rough. Here Nova and Finley are playing, but the play is getting rougher and rougher, then Sally wanted to join in, which can result in a pack mentality. First time, we interrupted and you can see Nova come away from the play, second time, you can see Sally move away and Nova pause. Then we let them play again.
It's not all work and no play at training school! Nova and Finley were having a blast! P. S. Don't tell his dad how filthy he is!
Sally and Finley playing. One dog who was attacked by a pack of dogs and badly injured and one dog who is nervous around other dogs and tends to lash out when he's nervous. Too cool!
Finley is doing really well with playing well with our dogs. We did introduce my dad's dog today and Finley tried to get an attitude with him. We told him that was totally unacceptable and after that he was fine. Check out Sally trying to get in on the chase. I had to stop the video because she was making me laugh! I do have a video of her playing with Finley I will post later.
