We’re so excited to introduce the newest member of our team, Alex! 🎉 By day, she’s a dedicated middle school science teacher, sharing her love of learning with the next generation. But outside the classroom, she’s a huge Buffalo Bills fan, a proud pet parent to her cat Yoyo and dog Riley, and now—one of our amazing pet walkers!

Hi Pawfect Walks Family,

As temperatures drop this week, our priority is to ensure the safety and comfort of your furry friends and our team members. When it’s below freezing (under 32°F), we’ll follow our Below Freezing Weather Policy to keep everyone safe while still providing the care your pet deserves.

What You Can Expect

• Walk Adjustments: Outdoor walks will be limited to a maximum of 15 minutes to ensure your pup gets a chance to stretch their legs and take care of business.

• Indoor Fun: The remaining time of your scheduled 30-minute visit will be spent indoors engaging in fun activities like playtime, snuggles, or mental enrichment to keep your dog happy and stimulated.

• Safety First: Extreme cold can be dangerous for pets and humans alike. This policy is designed to protect your dog from risks like frostbite or hypothermia and to ensure the safety of our team members while they’re out working in these freezing temperatures.

Why This Policy Matters

We know your dog is part of your family, and we treat them like they’re part of ours. At the same time, your pup isn’t the only one we care for each day, and balancing everyone’s needs is critical. Shortening outdoor time in below-freezing temperatures allows us to:

1. Protect Your Dog: Dogs can experience frostbite on their paws, nose, and ears in extreme cold. Prolonged exposure can also lower their core body temperature, leading to hypothermia.

2. Keep Our Team Safe: Our team members are out and about all day, often walking multiple dogs in freezing weather. Limiting time spent outside helps prevent cold-related illnesses, frostbite, and exhaustion, allowing us to care for every dog on our schedule safely.

3. Maintain Consistency: Sticking to this policy helps us stay on time for all our appointments and ensures that no pup is left waiting in the cold.

What If You’d Like a Different Plan?

If you have specific instructions for your dog’s care in freezing weather, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We’re happy to accommodate your preferences as long as it’s safe for your pup and our team.
