Keller's Kats Rescue Inc. Keller's Kats Rescue, Inc. is a not for profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization. He was rescued by a volunteer that was determined to help save him.

We are a dedicated group working to find suitable homes for abandoned, lost, and surrendered animals in jeopardy of euthanasia in and around Rochester, NY. Keller is completely blind-- the result of an eye infection that was left untreated. He runs into walls, misses the couch when he attempts to jump on it, and thinks the water dish is a bathtub but we wouldn't want it any other way. Keller is pr

oof in miracles. Keller taught us a valuable lesson to never give up, never walk away--even when some people criticize your decision. Our supporters were our strength and guidance. We all--as a team--saved Keller that day and we will continue to save more every day for as long as we are able to. Keller's story has helped to save multiple animals from abuse and neglect. We ask that you continue to support your Keller’s Kats Rescue by donating supplies from our wish list here:

Meet Buster 🐾

Buster is a 3-year-old French/English Bulldog mix with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. He’s goofy, clumsy, lovable, and keeps his family laughing every single day with his silly antics.

Buster can be anxious at times and gets very excited when people come home. He’ll hop around with toys when he wants to play, and his favorite “toy” is actually empty water bottles. He loves attention and is extremely food motivated — especially at dinner time. Breakfast is negotiable unless treats are involved.

He is crate trained, potty trained, and sleeps through the night (while snoring loudly). He can be left home alone while the family is away and does well. He currently lives with 3 cats and completely ignores them. He also does well with dogs he knows in the home, though he can be more vocal or dominant with unfamiliar dogs at first.

Because of his excitement level and some mobility concerns, Buster would do best in a home with older children. He’s wonderful with kids but can accidentally knock smaller children over when excited. He also needs a home with very few stairs, as he sometimes slips or falls when moving too fast and may need assistance on steps. Morning stretching helps him loosen up and move more comfortably.

Buster is around 50 lbs and eats Fromm food from Pet Supplies Plus. His food is usually mixed with a little water to make eating easier. He tolerates car rides but can get somewhat anxious. Baths are okay as long as they’re approached calmly and slowly.

He knows “sit” and “lay down” when he feels cooperative, and he absolutely loves attacking vacuums, shop vacs, and brooms like they are his mortal enemies.

Buster is being rehomed only because ongoing back problems have made it physically too difficult for his family to safely care for him the way he deserves. This is an incredibly hard decision, and the goal is to find him a loving, patient home that understands his quirks and will love him for exactly who he is.

A few important notes:
• Buster is not neutered.
• He is not currently up to date on shots.
• Limited vet records/paperwork are available.
• He may occasionally have accidents if overstimulated or anxious.
• Care should be taken when he gets overly excited because he can slip or fall if he jumps around or moves too quickly.
• Care should also be taken when letting him out of his crate so he doesn’t get his paw stuck due to the excitement of people returning home.

His family would love occasional updates or social media access after adoption if the future adopters are comfortable with that.

Buster truly is one of a kind — a quirky, loving, hilarious dog who deserves a safe and understanding forever home.

1 and a half year old Luna is still available for adoption! 🐈

Luna is a respectful, young adult companion who strikes a perfect balance between independent observer and affectionate friend. While she is confident enough to hold her own in a crowd, she prefers to stay on the perimeter and quietly watch the action from her own personal space. She is highly adaptable and polite, setting clear boundaries while remaining a very good girl. Once the hustle and bustle settles down and she gets some one-on-one time, Luna’s reserved nature melts away, she becomes an eager fan of pets and cuddles, proving herself to be a loyal and steady companion.
Don’t let her calm exterior fool you, though; as soon as the wand toy comes out, all bets are off. Luna is a talented athlete who loves to show off her jumping skills and dive into the excitement of a play session. She is respectful of other cats and would likely do well with dogs or children given a proper introduction and a spot to call her own. If you are looking for a sophisticated, observant soul who save her best moments for her favorite people, Luna is the perfect match.

4.5 months, 8 clinics, and 573 animals vaccinated…and counting! 🐾💙

Since the start of the year, Rochester Animal Services has hosted:
🐶 4 free dog vaccine clinics
🐱 4 free cat vaccine clinics

Together, that’s:
💉 261 dogs vaccinated
💉 312 cats vaccinated

These clinics are about more than vaccines. They’re about keeping pets healthy, helping families access care, and supporting the people who love their animals through every stage of life.

A huge thank you to Keller's Kats Rescue Inc. for sponsoring our cat clinics with a grant from the Golisano foundation..https://golisanofoundation.org/bailey-and-friends/ and Petco Love for helping make our dog clinics possible! Because of partnerships like these, we’re able to continue serving the animals and families of Rochester while helping keep pets safe, healthy, and home with the people who love them.

And we’re not done yet. 🐾

Meet Louie,

She is approximately 8 years old and 13 lbs!!! . Louie is a little timid at first, and needs a family that will give her time to adjust. Louie, affectionately called “Bobo” by her foster family, loves to be outside and is happy to sleep peacefully in the recliner chair. Louie is a sweetie and licks her foster family’s faces every morning when she wakes up. She is very snuggly with familiar people, but not super excited about strangers. She is comfortable with other dogs and older children. She is potty trained to go outside, but occasionally still marks inside especially on blankets, dog beds, and dog toys. She is becoming accustomed to walking on a leash and does best when she’s with other dogs to follow. She prefers a harness to a collar and does a hilarious Superman pose with her legs when lifted up off the ground. Louie has the softest long hair and the most adorable tufts of fur around her ears. She loves treats and snacks and will be a wonderful companion once she feels settled and comfortable in her new surroundings.
