Thank you to everyone who donated for Manji to have his TECA surgery! His surgery is scheduled for Monday the 26th with Veterinary Medical Center of Athens. He will be recovery in his foster home with all his foster siblings and Moms for the next few weeks! We will post update pictures and keep everyone up to speed on his recovery! 🐶🥰

✈️Freedom Flight 8/22/24✈️

It was a beautiful-breezy early morning to be “Wheels Up" with the amazing Dog Is My CoPilot, Inc. where 47 fur loves ranging from 6 pounds to 68 pounds took their rescue flight on the "Big Dog" to our Paw-Tastic northern partners in the great states of Michigan, Illinois & Wisconsin. We love Y’all!🩷🐾

To say we are beyond grateful for ALL who made this happen, is a major understatement.🥰🫶🏼

Hey Y’all my name is Jumanji, Manji for short🐶
I am the bestest, sweetest, most loyal friend you will ever meet. I love all my dog friends, I’m potty trained, and I even like cats! I’m the total package. BUT my ears are really messed up…I have chronic ear infections that have gone untreated too long and my shelter moms have put me on a super aggressive medical regiment to help me per veterinary advice, but it won’t work. My only option is emergency ear surgery called a total ear canal ablation (TECA) surgery. It is a life saving surgery for me because if I don’t have it done and the ear infection continues to spread being resistant to my medicine it can go into my brain, which is not good! I have already privately raised some funds for myself by begging for treats, but now I need y’all’s help for this life saving surgery! If you could help me I would give you the biggest kisses you could ask for!

Hi everyone! It’s been a little while since we updated you on penelope. For those of you who don’t know, Penelope came to us in deplorable condition. She was emaciated, and as a result of an old fracture in her leg; she has a bit of a difficult time walking. Penelope is also unfortunately blind in both of her eyes. However, despite all of this, Penelope’s spirit has not wavered; and she continues to be one of the happiest pups we’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing here at the shelter. As you can see here, Penelope is thriving at her foster mom’s house and has even put on some weight since she came to us! She also appears to be having an easier time walking. She has received much love and care from her foster family; and has even made some new friends! We will continue to update the public as she continues her road to recovery. Say hello to Smoky Joe! Smokey is a lovable fur ball who enjoys lounging around on the couch and cushiony shower mats (its the only thing that his big body can fit on). According to his foster mom, although Smokey can be an independent cat, his absolute favorite thing to do is snuggle up on your chest. He is good with humans of all shapes and sizes and once he gets used to them, he is good with other dogs and cats. The only toys he seems to enjoy are ones with cat nip.
