Look who’s home!!🤍

Walter is so incredibly determined!! I am so hopeful!!💖

We have already begun his PT and he’s doing great.😊

Our final bill was just over 3700 dollars. Again thank you to everyone that is rooting for this tiny gremlin!! We have raised nearly 1200 dollars.

Walter UPDATE!🤍

Walter made it through his CT scan like a pro. In fact, he was already scooting around in his stall before he was completely out of his sedation. So for his safety, his doctor put him in an isolation box. Seriously….how cute is he?🥹

This is what we know so far…
Walter has a few fractured ribs. This is what is accounting for his pneumonia and bloody nose.
It doesn’t appear that his hips, back legs or vertebrae are damaged. So the question is why can he not use his back end?
Best case scenario is that he is still recovering from the trauma. Other options are mineral deficiency or CAE, Caprine arthritis encephalitis.
We are doing further testing for both of these things. Results will not be in until next week.
Walter is bright, active and drinking his bottle like a champ. So today he was weaned off of his IV. As long as he is still on the up swing…he can come home tomorrow.♥️

We are ready to start his PT program. His tiny wheelchair came today and is set up and waiting. We have back leg braces to give him support. He will be receiving cold laser and red laser treatments as well as passive and active physical therapy. We may even do aqua therapy in the bathtub. Actually, he is such a peanut that we can probably make the kitchen sick a pool for him! 😂

He is getting such great care and lots of love in the hospital but we cannot wait to have this baby home!💖

Thank you to everyone that had so generously donated to his hospital bill. So far we have raised nearly 700 dollars. Our bill may end up around 3500 dollars.

EMERGENCY ♥️

Meet Walter!🥹

I was contacted on Saturday night about this tee tiny munchkin….he was found in a field with a mini pony standing over him. And he appeared paralyzed. The farmer said that he was 4 days old. I knew we had to help him!!

Thank you Lauren for transporting him to us on Sunday evening. We instantly fell in love.

While Walter has many issues right now….he also has much support. He is the sweetest 3 pound bundle. We will do everything we can to help him get the life he deserves.

We did not intend to bring in any more rescues but we couldn’t say no! So the plan is….we will get Walter healthy and through the bottle feeding stage and then we will find him the perfect forever home. He will be with us for the next 3-4 months.🤍

We took him to University of Penn New Bolton first thing Monday morning.

Here is what we are dealing with….
He has no use of his back legs but we are hopeful
He has a bloody, snotty nose from pneumonia
He is struggling to get use to a bottle
His muscle enzymes are elevated

With all of those things there is still good news…
He is bright and alert
He did receive colostrum
He has a very strong front end

Currently he is at the hospital receiving IV antibiotics, dextrose and basic fluids.
Walter is comfy and being loved on by the entire staff.
I have ordered him a tiny wheelchair for when he gets home.
But here is the biggie…
While X-rays did not show any fractures, he is still unable to use his back legs. We have opted to do a full body CT scan this afternoon. I am very nervous about him going under anesthesia but we (me and docs) think that it’s important to find out what exactly is going on.
This will give us necessary information to begin his PT program when he arrives home.

Our hospital bill to this point is 3000 dollars. That may sound like a lot but Walter deserves the world! He is truly the cutest little gremlin…and so dang sweet!

We have great news!! Jonesy had his check up today and all his bloodwork is back to normal…we are so relieved! 🥲

Thank you for all the love and support you have shown us….we love you!

And a huge THANKS to Atlantic County SPCA for the super generous donation….it will go straight to Jonesy’s vet bill.❤️

Our boy is back home….we are all so happy!💖

Jonesy will continue on antibiotics until a recheck in about a week. We believe he will keep improving while being home with us.

Today he had breakfast in-front of the fireplace with Henrietta….mid morning nap…and then lunch outside in the sun with Humphrey. I think he likes this schedule.🥹

I wanted to thank everyone that has sent love, light, support and donations.💛

And a huge thank you to the entire team at University of Pennsylvania New Bolton Center! They gave Jonesy the best care and so much love.❤️

Jonesy🤍

It’s been a rough few days here but I just received good news and wanted to share.
I had to rush Jonesy to the hospital late Saturday night.

I will spare you the details of my complete emotional meltdown but I had to leave him at the hospital in the very spot that I held my Sadie Hope alive for the last time. It was one month and one day since I was there with my baby girl. So it was….awful.
An incredible thank you to the Docs that understood my grief and treated me with kid gloves. And to Lauren who showed up at the hospital in the middle of the night to support Jonesy and I….we love you!

So the good news….Jonesy can come home tomorrow as long as he has a good night.
His problem was very high Creatinine numbers. Which could have indicated kidney damage/failure but thankfully was just a bladder/catheter issue.

Please send some love, light and prayers to our Jonesy boy….that he has an amazing night and I can bring him home!

Happy Giving Tuesday 2024!!💖

This is one of my favorite days of the year.
It is the perfect reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can make a huge impact.💚
Smiling and complimenting a person who is silently struggling can change their day.
Carrying groceries to car or helping an elderly neighbor unload their car can save them pain and injury.
Hugging a houseless individual and praying with them can help them feel seen….this one I see first hand all the time!!
Telling a teenager that they have an incredible amount of worth even when they are being bullied can help them through another day.🤍

These are all things that can be done daily without hesitation and without much effort.

So today let’s remember to spread love and kindness….and let’s make it a habit that lasts EVERY DAY all year long.💙

A small challenge from me to you…smile at the next 3 people you see. It will make you happy, I promise! 🙂

My apologies for not responding to each one of your kind comments.The love and light sent from family, friends, fellow sanctuaries and all of those who loved Sadie Hope has meant so much to us.We are still finding it hard to breathe without our angel! Our entire life has changed.I want to make a tribute to our special baby but I am just not able to yet. But for now…here is something that has brought me comfort…Sadie Hope has been reunited in heaven with her first furry a d favorite best friend…Gussie! They loved each other so dang much. He was the best seeing eye dog and big brother! 💖So much Gratitude to all of you…for everything!

Otis was rescued 6 years ago tomorrow! And it changed me forever. Otis was our first rescue that was so sick we didn’t think he would make it. 🧡 He was so tiny and unable to walk. Pneumonia, vitamin deficiency, and underweight. Our vet told us that if we didn’t want him to die alone, I better sleep in the barn. Well, I slept in the barn for weeks…did physical therapy on his legs multiple times a day…prayed and prayed…and talked and sang to him non-stop.🤍 I am not sure I would have survived losing him…and he knew it…so he fought!! And he won!!
