The beauty of this sport is how it teaches us to pay attention to and observe our dogs, to study them in the moment, to read their body language. It is their time to shine, to activate and fulfill their instincts to hunt in an increasingly urban and dog-unfriendly world. It is time together with our dogs in which we give them our complete and utter attention, a time where we observe them and try to hear what they are saying.

I wanted to let you all know that although I'm no longer in Hightstown I am still training competition level scentwork at Bayshore Companion Dog Club in Tinton Falls.
I have intro classes on Wednesdays at 3:15 and Fridays at 6:45
I have trial ready classes in Tuesdays at 9:30 and at 7:30 pm
I am also have available a few private time slots.
I am also teaching Nov/Intermediate Rally on Fridays at 5:30 pm and have a few private time slots available.

DogStar Training NJ is THRILLED to share that one of our scentwork students, Nya with her "Dad" Jason pulled out 3 Qs (qualifyings) and 3 FIRST PLACE on 2 interior searches and a buried search AT HER VERY FIRST TRIAL!!!!

And now "interiors" which means an in door space. 53 seconds to find the target!

Elvira's Handler Discrimination run. There is a cotton glove in one of the 10 boxes with Mary's scent on it. There is also a box containing the judge's scent. Elvira found her mom!

In Basics Plus one behavior is called "Drop on Recall". Sometimes you want your dog to stop where they are and sit or down. Lucy shows how it's done! Good job lucy!

Height isn't an obstacle for little Elvira when it comes to locating a scent!
