Meet Otis

Otis is a smart and sweet 2 yr old male pug. Some of his favorite activities include cuddling, playing tug of war with his toys, taking naps, and giving kisses! He is so affectionate and is the true definition of a “velcro-dog”, he is happiest when he is by your side. He would do best as the only dog in the home due to not getting along with other dogs (especially males). He does well with children and is a friend to everyone he meets! He is housebroken, crate trained, and does well walking on a leash. He has a suspected chicken allergy but loves to snack on his bacon treats! He has a bit of anxiety but has calmed with some training. He is such a silly and goofy boy that will bring smiles and joy to his future family!

Meet Chico & Nana

Chico and Nana are a bonded pair who are learning to love the pet life. They were used exclusively for breeding, kept in crates in a garage, and only let out for potty breaks. Both are healthy now and ready for adoption!
Chico (white patch on forehead and blue eyes) is a mellow boy who loves to wrestle with Nana, but also enjoys snuggling down for lots of naps. He is getting used to being held but prefers to lay next to you or between your legs. Chico loves other dogs and is always curious when making new puppy pals. He loves people and wants to show his affection by licking your face and nibbling your fingers, so he needs interesting chew toys!
Nana has a lot of energy! She loves to play with Chico, go for a run in the yard, and bark at the neighbor dogs. Although she is a sweetheart with every human she meets, she is aggressive with other dogs and would do best in a home without other pets. She does get a bit jealous when Chico is getting attention, treats, or food (and will let him know who’s the boss), but she loves to show her affection by curling up in your lap or with Chico for a nap, even if the bed is not big enough!
They are both a work in progress with house-training. Nana especially is getting better at not peeing in the house, but needs a little more work. This sweet pair will be great for a family who has a yard or can take them on frequent walks, and have the patience and love for training them. They have not met small children but do well with younger teenagers. They both have so much love to give and need some people to snuggle!!

Meet Tuna!

Tuna came to Colorado Pug Rescue after her foster moms found her getting less than the royal treatment in her previous set up. Since then Tuna has won the hearts of everyone she meets. Tuna is the most loving, cuddly girl. She has been very accurately described as a “living teddy bear.” If you’re on the lookout for a pup that just loves to be loved and can go anywhere with you, Tuna is your girl. Tuna’s foster mom’s love talking about her and would love to chat if you think Tuna could be the pug you’ve been searching for!

Cuddly, loving, queen of snorts, food focused with snacks on her mind, friend to all, takes naps seriously, clear communicator, human companionship is her favorite-especially while she adjusts to new settings.

Fast Facts:

Name: Tuna aka Tootie, Detective Tutuoloa if she’s out and about solving a mystery.

Age: 14?

Likes: Food,naps, being cuddled, being held.

Dislikes: Empty food bowls, being woken up in the morning.

Also: Mostly (90+%) blind. But that doesn’t slow her down for long. Tuna learned the layout of our house and yard in about a week or so. She can and will do stairs. Mostly/completely deaf. Chronic dry eye that will require drops for the remainder of her life-she doesn’t mind at all. Arthritis-she would benefit from some pain/medication management-currently she takes her medication with food and is non the wiser.

We’ve been contacted by several concerned Pug lovers about these two Pugs who are at the local shelter. We a have been in contact with the shelter and are working on a plan to help these poor sweet seniors.
