There will be a group training session on Monday the 12th from 6pm to 7pm at Price Park.
If you are a current client who has sessions available the training is free.
If you are a previous client, the cost is $35.

I picked Rowan and Ruby up for day training today. We worked on sharpening up commands, distraction training, and of course some socialization with Miss Luna.
Group Training Session🐶
There will be a group training session for any past or current clients. If you have training sessions left, the class is free. If you have finished a training program the class will be $35 (discounted this month 😄).
The session will take place at Price Park on Tuesday July 16th from 6pm until 7pm.
Please bring with you your training equipment (prong collar, e-collar, long line), something to use as a spot, treats, and p**p bags.

Maximus had his first outdoor training session yesterday.
With the extreme heat we will be having this week please keep your dogs outdoor time to a minimum. Walk your dog either early in the morning or late in the evening. Remember the pavement can easily burn the pads off of their feet. And please do NOT leave your dog in the car, leave them at home!

Mabel, Rowan, Leo, and Otto worked hard at our park session this evening.
Spotty is a 4 year old Australian Cattle Dog who had her first training session today.
During our weeks of training we will be working on reactivity, leash manners, jumping/excitability, introduction to cats, and basic obedience.
Rowan worked hard yesterday during his 2nd Dream Dog session. While on his spot, the cat was playing with a laser pointer and Rowan still stayed focused. We also worked on a drop it command to make fetch more enjoyable. Rowan is so much fun to work with because he is so intelligent and truly enjoys training.

Please please please stop reaching your hand out to dogs. It is very intimidating and can lead to biting.
🛇 Use your Manners! 🛇
The Sniff test - Stop doing that!
The sniff test - a badly engrained habit that society has been taught, without a clear understanding of what they're actually doing.
🚩When you reach out towards a dog, you are using body pressure AT them, giving them no time to assess whether you are safe & whether they require further investigation to pick up your information. You are forcing an interaction of a relationship that hasn't had time to develop. To some dogs, this is quite rude & the reason a lot of dogs snap at or bite people. This can cause alot of behavioral issues because of layered stress due to forced interactions.
🚩If they are on lead, they have no where to go if they are sensitive to spacial pressure, so can end up shutting down, shying away or snapping at your hand so you back off. This is an example of how a dog is now using pressure to turn off pressure & make you back off so they aren't so stressed.
🚩People think by offering your hand it can give the dog time to sniff to know you're friendly... they can sniff without being forced to sniff your hand.Their noses are far more superior than ours & they don't need close contact forced upon them to smell you.
🚩Some dogs might not want to know you. You have no relationship with them and that's perfectly fine. They aren't your dog so you don't need to touch them or steal pats for your own satisfaction.
🤔 If you are meeting a dog, what should you do?
⚠Ask the owner if you can interact with their dog. Not all people want strangers touching their dogs. Especially strangers who you are unlikely to see again.
⚠Stand up straight & relaxed, with your hands at your side.
⚠Ignore the dog & talk to the owner.
⚠Don't stare at the dog & don't try to force an interaction by going in for a pat. If the dog wants to know you, it will come up to you & sniff around. Usually they will move away & then come back for a second sniffathon. Some dogs will bunt your hands & wag their tails, which are good signs that you're likely an accepted new friend. Give them a few slow pats down their back (NOT THEIR HEAD) & then stop. Is the dog happy? Has it accepted your interaction? This will determine whether you can give it more pats.
🐶This is a more stress free option for dogs & a reason why in consultations we can develop a good level of trust, especially with fearful dogs & aggressive dogs, without a bunch of negative side effects from forced interactions.
Luna wants to remind all the dog moms and dads that it’s already flea and tick season! Don’t forget to give your dog their monthly flea, tick, and heartworm meds.

Luna's will no longer be offering boarding at the facility. If you are already booked with me in the future, don't worry, your spot is still reserved.
Boarding will be offered in the client's home. In home boarding is much less stressful on your dog's so you will have peace of mind while away. Pricing for in home boarding varies on location, number or dogs, and other care factors. To get a pricing for boarding call or text (330)730-0344

We will now be offering in home training. You get the benefits of training your best friend without having to leave your home!
We are still offering training at the facility, but that will end in April. After April, all training will be done in home.
Consultations in your home will be $50. If you sign up for a training program during the consultation, the $50 will be taken off.

Took advantage of the beautiful weather to work on Rocky’s off leash training. As you can see, he is doing amazing!
Today Zeus is learning how to properly socialize with other dogs. He is still nervous due to being extremely insecure, but he’s making great progress.
Rocky is a 7 month old Cane Corso who is going to be staying with me for 4 weeks to complete his on and off leash training. I will be posting a video weekly of Rocky’s progress. #boardandtrain #onleashobedience #offleashobedience

It’s amazing how quickly you see results when your dog understands what you want from them. The first video is a 6 month old Labrador named Rocco. He is very high energy, pulls on the leash, mouthy, jumps, and ignores his owners commands. The second video (in the comments) is just ONE week into training! Don’t ever underestimate what your dog is capable of achieving when you learn to properly train them.
