💙 KIRYU GOT A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH! 💙

Our big baby Kiryu had a big day yesterday! He went to visit our friends at Mazie's Mission, and we are thrilled to share some wonderful news.
🎉 HE TESTED NEGATIVE FOR HEARTWORMS! 🎉
Cue the happy dancing, tail wags, and giant‑dog (lazy, slow-mo) zoomies.
Kiryu also received all of his vaccinations and had full bloodwork done. Everything came back within normal ranges, with just a couple of values slightly above the typical threshold...nothing concerning at all. In fact, his vet team gave him a big thumbs‑up. This handsome boy is healthy, strong, and ready for his future. 🙌
His foster family says he’s exactly what he looks like 👉 a giant, gentle baby who adores affection. He’s had zero issues after his vaccines and has been soaking up all the love and comfort at home like the oversized marshmallow he is.
Now that he’s medically cleared, Kiryu is officially ready to find his forever family - someone who wants a soft‑hearted companion who's the perfect height for hugs and has a whole lot of love to give.

🎉 2025 I Am Dog Rescue Adoption Wrap‑Up 🎉
Happy New Year! As we celebrate the beginning of 2026, we wanted to take a look back at 2025 with you. What a year it was… a rollercoaster of heartbreak, wagging tails, second chances, and the kind of happy endings that keep us going. It was also a year filled with the behind‑the‑scenes challenges that come with rescue work. 🐶
Still, we’re celebrating every single dog who found their forever home this year. Each adoption represents hours of care, teamwork, and love… and sometimes months of unexpected expenses. 😟 From ongoing board‑and‑train for Paxton, to surgeries and medical surprises, to the ups and downs of foster availability, 2025 stretched us in ways we didn’t anticipate. But it also reminded us why this work matters so deeply. 🫶
And our foster families...YOU are the magic in the middle. ✨
You open your homes, your schedules, and your hearts. You help scared dogs decompress, learn to trust again, and get whatever they need to become adoptable. 🙌 We truly could not do any of this without you, and we hope you feel seen, appreciated, and celebrated in every success story this year.

🎉🐾 Closing Out Our 10th Year With Gratitude
As we say goodbye to our 10th year of saving lives and making a difference for dogs in need of a second chance, our hearts are overflowing. Every share, every donation, every foster "yes", every kind word, and every adoption inquiry...you helped make our first decade of rescue possible. 👏
Thank you for standing with us, believing in our dogs, and helping us give them a new beginning year after year. 🫶
Tomorrow we’ll celebrate the adoptions that made 2025 unforgettable. 🙌

🎆⚠️ New Year’s Eve Safety Reminder
Fireworks can turn even the calmest pups into full‑blown (panicked) superheroes - leaping fences, breaking out of crates, squeezing through impossibly tiny spaces, and pulling off feats you’d swear required a cape.
❣️ A few quick ways to keep your dog secure tonight:
- Keep them indoors and stay close if possible
- Double‑check gates, doors, and fences
- Make sure collars fit and tags are up to date
- If they're microchipped, double check to ensure your contact info is correct (and answer the phone/check your email if your dog goes missing)
- Turn on the TV or music to help soften the booms
- Give them a safe, cozy spot to hide if they need it

♾️🐶 FOREVER FOSTER HOLLY 🐶♾️
One of Forever Foster Holly's favorite things is to go for a walk and survey her kingdom. She made sure to get in a good nap today before her royal walkies. 👑 There's so much more to keep an eye on right now with Christmas decorations, suspicious UPS drivers, and kids home from school. 👀
Our Forever Foster program is for dogs who aren't able to be adopted but will stay with their foster families for whatever time we are blessed to have with them. 💙

😍 Oh my goodness! How snuggly and warm does IADR alumna, Fran, look on such a chilly day? 🥶 She got this new blanket for Christmas, and it sure looks like it’s her favorite thing! ❤️
We love seeing how loved our rescue pups are, and Fran certainly hit the jackpot with her family!

🫂🫶 WELCOME, KIRYU! 🫶🫂
This big, handsome fella officially joined the I Am Dog Rescue family today, and he already has our hearts. 💘 He explored his new foster home and met his furry foster siblings. His new foster sister was quick to let him know who's in charge (spoiler alert - it's her), and his foster brother immediately wanted to play. 😊 He'll be getting adjusted to his new surroundings, but he is a super sweet boy. We can't wait to get to know him better.

We hope Santa Paws was good to your pups and you were able to spend the day with your favorite people. Roxy took lots of naps on her new snuggle mat. Aspen got spoiled rotten with tons of gifts. Missy and Koi were so excited about their new Benebones that they could hardly sit still. 😆
We hope the magic of Christmas lasts through the coming days as we count down to 2026.

🎅😴 Just One More Sleep 'Til Christmas 😴🎅
It’s Christmas Eve, and whether you’re last‑minute panic shopping, wrestling with something that looked easy to assemble, or realizing you forgot that one crucial ingredient for Christmas dinner, we hope you still find a moment to celebrate and be present with the ones you love. 🥰
Tonight, we’re especially grateful for our foster families, who’ve made sure their pups are warm, safe, and loved. 🎄
But our hearts are a little heavy, too. Our sweet boy Paxton is spending his second Christmas in a kennel. This big, goofy lovebug deserves to curl up in a soft bed with a family of his very own - not spend another night in boarding.
Our biggest Christmas wish is simple:
