🩷🐾 BAILEY PUPDATE 🐾🩷
Last month, our pretty little Bailey had quite the vet day. She went in for a lump removal and dental, and since there were no records, no tattoo, and no visible spay scar, we also did an exploratory spay surgery. Thankfully, she was already spayed! 👏
As part of her dental, Bailey had to have 8 teeth extracted. 🦷 She was pretty miserable when she got home, but true to form, she bounced back quickly and was back to her sassy self in no time. ☀️
At her follow-up, we found that her ear infection—which we’ve been treating since she arrived—was still lingering. After another recheck, we sent out a culture to get a better picture of what’s going on in hopes of having a treatment solution. 👂
💖 Despite it all, Bailey is doing wonderfully. She’s spoiled rotten, and honestly? That’s exactly how we like it. 😍

This handsome guy's foster family is headed out of town next month, and Duke is looking for a place to crash for a few days. While Duke gets along wonderfully with his foster sister, it took them about 2 weeks to become besties. So, we are really looking for a family without any other pets to enjoy Duke's company for a few days. 🤩
Duke is super sweet and well-behaved. He likes to play and soak up some sun. He naps hard and is an expert-level snuggler. Plus, just look at that adorable face! Who wouldn't want to give this baby big hugs? 👐

We’ll let Calypso and Willow show you how it’s done. 💁‍♀️🐾
Calypso strutted into her temporary foster home like it was a five-star resort and everyone had been JUST WAITING for her arrival. (Spoiler: she was right.) 💃
And Willow? She gave it, oh... a couple hours before deciding her temp foster dad needed to level up the petting game. (Yes, he was already petting her. No, it wasn’t enough. 😆)
Temporary fosters make the world go round for dogs like these—and when regular fosters are out of town, it’s folks like YOU who can keep tails wagging and maybe send them back with a new list of demands. 😉

🥺 𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟲 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲—𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 💔

Before he was Bandit, he was “Blue”—a loyal pup whose world was turned upside down when his dad fell seriously ill. ☹️ With no one else able or willing to take him in, Blue was surrendered to a tiny rural shelter south of Dallas.

That’s where we found him after a shelter networker sent out a plea to save him. And that’s when his next chapter with I Am Dog Rescue began. 🩵

A foster family asked to foster him, and we thought Bandit had caught his break. But the shelter hadn’t told us he was heartworm positive. The foster home wasn’t right for treatment, and with a new puppy joining their family, we had to start over. ⏳ With time running out before we would have to start prepping him for treatment all over again, and no foster lined up, one of our board members opened their heart and home so Bandit could finally begin treatment—and yet another new chapter, this time with a new name.

And Bandit is still waiting. 😢

We don’t know why he keeps getting overlooked. Maybe it’s his serious little face that hides how sweet and snuggly he really is. Maybe people don’t know that he’s the perfect medium size, housebroken, crate-trained, and great with other dogs (with proper intros). Maybe they don’t know how gently he curls up beside you for couch time—or how respectful he is in homes where furniture’s off limits.

What we 𝙙𝙤 know? 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱. And he deserves that chance.

Paxton still has more work to do, but HE. IS. READY. 💪💙
Remember our sweet goofball Paxton (formerly Buddy B)? Just a short while ago, the sight of a leash sent him into a panic. Restraint of any kind—be it a collar or a corner—was terrifying. We suspect something awful happened to him in the past, something we’ll never fully understand... 😔
But look at him now. 🙌
In the hands of a skilled trainer and wrapped in gentle patience, Paxton has bloomed. He's still working on overcoming his hesitation, but you can see that while we were there, he chose to welcome his collar without fear—because he knows he’s safe. That kind of trust? That’s everything. 🥹
Now he’s ready for the next big step: HOME. 🏡
We’re looking for someone truly special. Someone who sees beyond the wagging tail and goofy grin (though he has plenty of both!)—someone committed to continuing to build his confidence and who will cheer him on for every victory, big or small. 🏆 Be part of his transformation and make his happily ever after a reality.
Paxton is 75–80 lbs of love. He's obsessed with belly rubs and soaks up all the lovin' like it's all he needs in life. He’ll form a powerful bond with his person or family... could that be you? 🫵

At around 10 years young, Fran is proof that age is just a number. This Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Boxer beauty has the heart of a puppy and the wisdom of a queen. 👑
Whether she’s charming the socks off kids or solving puzzle toys like a canine Einstein, Fran puts 110% effort into everything she does.
Fran is very people-focused and happiest when surrounded by her favorite humans, no matter their age. She’s playful, affectionate, and always up for a treat-fueled training session—seriously, this girl learns faster than you can open the treat jar. 😏
While Fran isn’t a fan of other dogs (she prefers to keep all the love to herself), she’s more than enough on her own. With her happy-go-lucky approach to life, she’ll fill your home with laughter, love, and just the right amount of sass. 💃

We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason.

Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.
