My Story

It all started with a dog named Einstein. Einstein wasn’t able to do agility for physical reasons, and I needed something for this active little Corgi to do. We stumbled into obedience, and my mentor the amazing Margaret Simek, and just never left. Einstein is now Einstein UD RE TKA CGC NW2 and was therapy dog certified. He also earned a UDX leg and OM points before his physical issues required an early retirement. Along the way I added Ros (UD TD RN TKA CGC), another Corgi. Ros earned most of her titles while I was completing my PhD work. Ros is actively campaigning for her UDX and OTCh as well as continuing her tracking work. In 2017, a Golden named Hubble (BN), also joined the ranks. He is working on his CD and playing in field and tracking. My methods are based off of building “want to” using positive reinforcement and building precision without the use of physical corrections. I strive to help create the behaviors that the trainer wants, whatever your goals are. I’ve helped people from those just starting out and new to the competition world, to people campaigning at the highest levels. My work uses the technology outlined by Bob Bailey and taught to me by Margaret Simek of operant conditioning to build behaviors without the need for force in training. My personal dogs and dogs I work with want to work, are happy to work, and can work to high levels of precision. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a message. I look forward to hearing from you!
