New 5.0-star Review: "I boarded my two elderly/geriatric cats for almost two weeks - they are both in palliative care at this time and both require daily doses regrettably of multiple meds - Lisa was a pro - scooped them right up and took care of administering their meds without a hitch - she was awesome - sending daily updates with photo's all my worries slipped away knowing they were being well cared for. The boarding suites for the cats are fantastic - super clean top notch if I was a cat I'd love to pass some time there - every imaginable toy/scratch pads/towers shelters to hide everything and of course all the love an hugs and kisses and attention needed to enjoy the day. Plus treats!!!! can't forget the treats!! ha! Upper Cape Pet Services sets the bar - I will absolutely board my cats there again if needed. Book a window suite if you can - as Lisa has set up a whole little Disney world outside for both the cats viewing and a utopia for birds - it's wonderful - I was thinking you know how when you get back from a vacation and reality sets in that no one is going to make your bed and bring you fresh fruits yummy coffee and pastries for breakfast because you're back at home - I wondered if my cats had the same feeling come back home after being at Upper Cape Pet Services - they were totally spoiled and looked after all day all day - I'm sure they miss Lisa - she is the best! - Board your cats here if you are able to - you will rest assured they are being well taken care of in every way possible - I give them 5 big stars - would give them 10 - 100 if possible - they are great everyone was super nice - they got a good thing going on over there - hop in - you'll be happy you found this place - for me honestly it was a savior - my old cats are a lot of work and with their meds and other issues well all I can say is that I am very grateful to Lisa and the staff there for taking care of my fantastic felines. Will absolutely turn to them without hesitation - Upper Cape Pet Services rocks - for real"

They did a great job making my cat comfortable and he looks fabulous now! Clean, newly remodeled space, very friendly and caring staff. Their cat hotel looks luxurious. Thank you!!!"

Please, do the right thing for your pup this July 4th holiday.

Please, do the right thing for your pup this July 4th holiday.

7/3/24 The next few days many towns will have fireworks and then also we have people who decide to host their own fireworks. The best solution to keep your dog safe is to leave them home in the comfort of their own home! Please don't let your dog or the dog you may be watching become a statistic!

6/26/24 Some call it over-reacting, call it whatever you want, but all of us at Missing Dogs Massachusetts want you to do everything you can to keep your dogs safe. Your dog may be ok today, but maybe there will come a time when they won't be. We can't post these warnings enough.
Cold hard facts: This time of year more dogs enter the shelter systems due to being spooked by fireworks, parades, etc. Many go home. Some end up miles and miles away from their homes in shelters. And even worse, some are still out there with families praying for a miracle.
It's facts and statistics that we deal with every single day at Missing Dogs Massachusetts and at many other organizations like ours.
Take steps to keep them safe today!
1. Look over your dog's leash and collar hardware- are clasps, hooks wearing out?
2. What about your pup's ID tags- can you read them? Is your town license that's on their collar up to date?
3. Is your dog microchipped? Is the chip's registration up to date? And did you know, a microchip is only as good as its current up to date registration and a microchip is NOT a GPS device!
4. Walk your dogs early, accompany them into your yard so they can't jump a fence or escape a gate in fear
5. If you have go to out, leave them home and provide them with a quiet, safe space in the home with their favorite treat.

5/24/24 Summertime fun is here, and with that comes parties and fireworks. It's been a super busy year for lost dogs and we aren't into the "fireworks" months yet. Take time to provide a safe space for your dog if you have guests or if they are fearful of fireworks. Check your fences, gates and doors. Make sure your dog has tags on and walk them on leashes. Your dog will feel so much better in a safe, quiet area!

12/31/23 New Year's Eve is here, and with that comes parties and fireworks. It's been a super busy year for lost dogs. Give your dog a safe, quiet space at home tonight! Take a moment over the next day or two, to check your fences, gates and doors. Make sure your dog has tags on and walk them on leashes. We are already hearing fireworks in many parts of the state, be safe now!

Happy, healthy, safe New Year to all!!

You might remember Oscarletta, a sleek black and white lab/terrier mix that was adopted a few weeks ago. Her new owner had an unexpected change in circumstances that made having a dog very difficult. Of course, we took her back so now you all have an opportunity to meet her! Letta (her official name is too long!) is about 7 months old and weighs almost 40lbs. She is playful, energetic and is a favorite at the shelter. As with all of our dogs, Letta has been spayed, microchipped and is fully vaccinated. Call 508-548-7742 to schedule a meet and greet with her.

We are noticing a lot of social media posts from dog owners, about their dog sitters canceling just shy of the dog owner’s scheduled vacation- leading to desperate social media pleas for ‘someone’ to keep their dog(s) for a week or two.

Being desperate to find a dog caretaker outside of your own home, should never lead to resorting to leaving your dog with ‘someone’ who says they run dog care out of their home- without being 100% certain that such person has the proper dog care license(s) in place.

If you don’t know this person and/or have not verified such licensure through viewing physical evidence of a license by the person (or through the City/Town Clerk’s office), then this should not be the place where your pet is left.

Unlicensed pet care operations are always subject to cease and desist orders. Where then would your dog go until your return?

Many neighbors will report seeing unknown dogs being walked on their streets or playing in the backyards of homes where there is certainty the dogs do not reside or where there is suspect dog business operations that may be unlawful.

Please only leave your pet with someone who is legally able to keep it.

Do your homework, even if you’re desperate to find last minute pet care.

And when planning vacations and pet care, always have a back up plan- just in case.

New 5.0-star Review: "Very receptive and listened to my concerns. First time owning this breed - Newfoundland - gave some excellent advice regarding grooming - Rex was done and redone due to his nervousness (had an accident first time at groomers) very fair price as well. Would highly recommend! Vanessa is amazing! She did his summer cut. With double coated extra large breeds it is a lot of work. She is wonderful with him and he loves her. Again very fair price and he is so much more comfortable for the summer. Thanks Vanessa!!"

I boarded my two cats here during a tough time, and the quick, open communication and professionalism made this experience seamless while easing my mind completely. Lisa is an absolute gem and truly cares about your pets. Never once did i doubt my cats were in the best hands. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone again, and again."

A little about us....

Lisa Hart (Owner) left Corporate America after 20+ years in the Financial Services Industry to pursue her passion. After calling on local veterinarians for 10 years for CareCredit, she was hooked on wanting to work with animals. Anyone that knows her, knows her passion for her dogs, most notably her long loved and missed, Colby. Prior experience with managing a local pet sitting company for 6 months, she decided to venture out on her own, knowing she could offer unmatched service.

Her business banking background and entrepreneurial spirit has lended itself to creating this exciting business where the clients are family and the pet care is paramount. Introducing new services such as private “Puppy Care” and ”Off-Leash Playtime” and “Transport Services”, something most single owner businesses can’t offer. In addition to the services offered, a streamlined scheduling portal allows her clients to easily register their pets, schedule services and pay online and is available on all mobile devices. Proving that this streamlined approach, coupled with the specialized services sets her apart from the others.

This is not a one-person gig. With the huge demand for excellent pet care, she couldn’t succeed without the help of her staff. Being able to juggle all of the clients, and ensure that top notch care is offered to each and every pet takes multiple people, and she is so grateful for her staff, who juggle their share of clients as well. Having a team means we don’t have to turn away last minute requests and also can offer vacationers pet coverage as well. We appreciate this opportunity to serve the Upper Cape towns and look forward to a long and successful adventure!
