D&T Hobby Farm & Transport This page is about things that happen on our hobby farm throughout the year. It'll have anything fro This is the D&T (Dean & Tracy) farm page. But it works.
(16)

We're just a couple of people living on a small hobby farm located in central Wisconsin. It's almost like Green Acres except we don't have to climb the telephone pole to make calls. We've been here since 2003 and have decided to setup a page and just kinda blog about what happens in and around the farm. Tracy and I both have physical issues that make this kind of life tough, but we like what we're

doing. We're kinda of opposites of each other with different interests and so there's many things that go on around here. But the main thing is just to share our life with friends and family. Tracy is into horses and small farm related stuff and I'm a musician and not into farm related stuff as much as she does. We're not rich by any means monetarily but we're rich with life. We don't need a lot of material things to be happy. So quite often, you'll probably see many things done the frugal way. Who doesn't like to do things on the cheap as long as it's done well. We do some friendly trucking and hauling for the nearby Amish community and we also haul horses for a local horse rescue. Speaking of which...we are volunteers and friends with the folks at the Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation. They are the largest horse rescue in the state of WI. They are great people and do great things for horses in need of help. There's a lot of seasons on a hobby farm that coincide with the weather. We'll most likely be blogging about everything that happens around here all year around about growing things, the animals, small time farming things, cooking, etc. Feel free to comment on anything. We won't tolerate any hate speech or any politcal/religous bashing on this page. That's what your personal page and groups you're in are for. Personal opinions are welcomed as long as it's done in a civil and adult fashion. We love humor and anything that is informative that helps our lives become easier and more simple. We hope that y'all enjoy our page as well. Feel free to share our page with your friends. The more the merrier. Thanks so much.

We've decided to sell our big trailer. We just don't use it enough to justify keeping it. It's a nice trailer and served us well the few times we used it. Read description below and share please.
Thanks

6 horse slant trailer
1998 Exiss Extreme SX Horse Trailer for sale. Great condition, clear title, no accidents or structural damage. Solid floor, no cracks in floor or welds. Has large tack room with lots of hooks for hanging tack or harness bags, 2 saddle racks for 8 saddles and storage selves. There’s storage in the rear of trailer with hooks and a saddle rack can be installed there as well. Dressing area has storage, bars for hanging clothes and a newer memory foam mattress. Original jack was replaced with a Bulldog jack. Bearings were checked 2yrs ago and has been only on a couple trips since then. Tires are all in good shape. It’s been cleaned after every trip and powered washed before parking for the winter. We’ve had it for 6yrs and only used it maybe 10-12 times. Life has changed and we’ve only used it once in the past year. We pulled it out to California and back to Wisconsin in May and has been parked ever since. We just don’t use it enough to justify keeping it. It pulls great and straight, horses always come off relaxed on long trips. Asking $17,500 OBO.

A beautiful day to have the shed roof coated.
This guys has been doing all our roofs ever since we moved here. Our roofs are the old thick steel and 8f you keep them coated, they'll last for a long time. Unless we get storm damage, we shouldn't have to replace our roofs on our lifetime. Or that's the hope at least, lol.

We're running a couple horses out to far western South Dakota and as usual my navigator is sleeping. Lol

Last week, I hauled some 6ft temporary panels for a local guy. Hell be using these to help load a bull on a trailer. These are really nice panels. They're made from used heavy duty oil well pipe. They're heavy and have wide feet on the bottom and they don't move. This should keep a bull from escaping while loading.
Whenever I'm driving in southern oil producing states, I see a lot of horse farms and Amish farms with fencing made from this same stuff. They're a lot of work to construct because they have to be welded together. But once installed and painted up, they look nice and will practically last forever. Or least your lifetime and your kids lifetime if maintained properly.

With all the wet weather some of the horses had to come in. Though I would do a short video because this is the first time the coming 2 yr olds, Jade, Tie and Pharaoh, have been in a tie stall. They all did fantastic! So happy with how they are coming along. They are available to the right homes. Solomon, Ishmael, Finn and Zac are also available.

So did some trailer loading with the babies last week. They did great for first timers! I did a video of each on the 5th time getting in. Great babies all ready for their new partners if you know anyone looking.

When I'm traveling, I'll find a diner for breakfast and if in Amish country, I'll find an Amish diner. This is one of the most tasty breakfast I've had. It's a smother porkchop on hash browns with green and red peppers, tomato, onions, gravy and cheese, served on a hot sizzling skillet. This one is worth writing home about!

Our Story

This is the D&T (Dean & Tracy) hobby farm page. We're just a couple of people living on a small hobby farm located in central Wisconsin. It's almost like Green Acres except we don't have to climb the telephone pole to make calls. We've been here since 2003 and have decided to setup a page and just kinda blog about what happens in and around the farm. Tracy and I both have physical issues that make this kind of life tough, but we like what we're doing. We're kinda opposites of each other with different interests and so there's many things that go on around here. But the main thing is just to share our life with friends and family. Tracy is into horses and small farm related stuff and I'm a musician and not so much into farm related stuff as much as she is. But it works. We're not rich by any means monetarily but we're rich with life. We don't need a lot of material things to be happy. So quite often, you'll probably see many things done the frugal way. But who doesn't like to do things on the cheap as long as it's done well.

UPDATE: There’s been a lot of changes with our health. Tracy has overcome a weight problem due to medications and I have finally kicked being on opioids for 18yrs. I still have my physical issues, but I’m working on that as well. We’re not young whipper snappers anymore and we need to look after ourselves and take care of each other. We do some friendly trucking and hauling for the surrounding Amish communities and we also haul horses for a local horse rescue and whoever needs their horse moved. Speaking of which...we are volunteers and friends with the folks at the Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation. They are the largest horse rescue in the state of WI. They are great people and do great things for horses in need of help. We have also been volunteers and foster home for a couple Doberman rescues, but now help people on our own. So you will probably see things mentioned or even pics posted from time to time about these things. UPDATE: So Tracy and I have been doing a lot of horse hauling. Not only for the Amish, but for everyone. We’ve decided that we’re going to expand a little and start doing some long distance horse hauling as well. We’re still private at this point, but will consider going commercial if this works out. So far it’s been going good and it’s been fun and we do work well together. She’s the handler and drives and I’m the logistics guy, booking agent and driver as well. Because of this, we’ve decided to change the page to include our transporting. Please share with your horse friends and tell them to consider us for their horse hauling needs.

Feel free to comment on anything. We won't tolerate any hate things or political/religious bashing on this page. That's what your personal page and groups you're in are for. Personal opinions are welcomed as long as it's done in a civil and adult fashion. We love humor and anything that is informative that helps our lives become easier and more simple and maybe we can share some tips along the way. We hope that y'all enjoy our page as well. Feel free to share our page with your friends. The more the merrier.

Thanks so much. Dean & Tracy
