This is sweet Marley; she had to be put to sleep this afternoon. She was 16 years old. She had hyperthyroidism for several years but maintained her weight rather well. She slowed down on her eating a couple weeks ago and then became dehydrated. So she had 4 sub cu fluid sessions which perked her up temporarily, but just couldn't stay hydrated. She was a strong kitty though...even this am she wanted to walk around and went up onto a high cat tree. She was adopted a few years ago, but the kitty that they already had didn't like Marley coming around her...Marley always wanted to be friends...so they had to bring her back. We will miss you tiny girl. You were so pretty and a loving little baby.

Here we are again! Mateo and Samantha! We are besties and love being around each other. We take the sleepies together, wrestle, play chase, and love each other. Brother and sister need to be adopted together.

Hello friends. We have an emergency rehoming post.
This is Gee. Gee is 11 years old now. Gee's owner has dementia and Gee needs to be rehomed ASAP. Gee would like to be an only cat or live with another kitty that would be submissive, as Gee most likely will want to be the alpha cat.
Please share this post! Gee's owner's caretaker feels he needs to go NOW as the owner's health is declining quickly.
If there is someone who would foster him for awhile, I will continue to look for an adoptive home for him.
Gee is adorable and even though this is not a recent picture, he still has this sweet little boy face.
Please help!

Hello. During the winter of 2023, a little black kitty came to my deck and I fed her.  It was cold outside so I gave her a heated outdoor house to stay in.  I named her Ramah.  Soon a handsome longhaired male kitty showed up and I named him Tomas.  I already had 17 foster cats...

Update! Everyone back! The mama cat just showed up and she's limping on her back right leg so that means she was hurt in some way. I was told today by a rescue that they can make an appointment for me for 2 weeks out. This rescue thing is so difficult with the timelines and such.

Oh my! Thank you God! About a half hour ago two of the kittens showed up...they were so hungry. I was just checking on them and a third kitten popped up onto the deck. They are all eating. I hope the last one and mama show up. Daddy should be back tomorrow. I'm trapping all, giving flea meds and bringing them in. I don't want to go through that again.

I am so sad. The mama and kittens I have been taking care of on my deck are missing. I was waiting for a vet appt to take everyone in for shots, etc. They have never left before. I've fed the mama and daddy through the winter. I would have trapped and brought them in but I didn't feel I had space...with 15 other kitties in my basement.
The daddy cat Tomas came for dinner last night and tonight. He just laid on the deck, he seems sad. They were so cute together. Ramah mama would hear him coming into my yard and she would literally run down the deck steps to greet him. They would come up the steps rubbing their heads together. Tomas would wrap his tail over Ramah's back as they ate side by side. And Tomas was very gentle with the kittens too. It's so sad...I hope they are okay, but it's very odd that they are all missing as a group.

This is Joey and he is available for adoption. Joey is a little bit over 2 years old and he is a brown tabby. Joey has been neutered and given a microchip. His full name is Joseph Joey Jojo Jones of Arimathea. Joey has a larger frame and is rather athletic. Joey has a sister named Claudia and Claudia looks exactly like Joey but quite a bit smaller. This is Georgia. She is a pretty kitty who would love to have her own forever home as the only kitty. She would also be okay with another cat as long as the other cat was respectful of Georgia's space. Georgia is very soft and requires little to no brushing.
Georgia is diabetic and is currently taking 1/2 unit of insulin twice a day. It is very easy to administer her insulin, she doesn't seem to mind at all.

I want to add to my last post regarding my cat food costs. I have three friends that over these years have given me food and litter. And it always seemed to show up when I was out of my own. I have always greatly appreciated this help. Feeding 20 cats, even a whole case of 24 cans doesn't last for even one day. So I want to acknowledge that I have received help and appreciate that help...maybe this help if combined together added up to a month of food. I am grateful for this help!

Hello cat lovers! I am asking for your help! I started The Cat's Inn Jan 2016. I have been fostering on average 18 to 20 cats at a time everyday since then. I have had very little help purchasing food and litter for them. Everyday each cat is given a minimum of 2 cans of Fancy Feast. Let's say each can costs on average 80¢. That is 20 cats x 80¢ x 2 (two meals per day each cat) x 365 days per year x 7.5 years = $87,600 minimum I've paid out of my own retirement fund just for food.
I can't spend this kind of money anymore. I hardly have any savings left.
I currently have 17 foster cats and a mama and daddy cat on my deck that had 4 kittens on April 19th. So I'm really feeding 23 foster cats.
I'm not sure what to do. I would love to get some of this money back. I'm terrible with asking for money via Go Fund Me, etc.
At the very least I'd like help getting the word out in order to get some kitties adopted. The majority of the foster cats are from stray neighborhood cats that I fed, they became pregnant and gave birth, I brought inside and had everyone spayed, neutered, shots, chipped, tested, etc...all paid by me.
I will be posting pics and bios for my foster cats. Please help with sharing their info in hopes of getting them adopted into a forever home.
First up is Mateo! He was born 3/15/19 in my home. He loves attention and pets, loves to play with feathers-on-a-string type of toy. He would most likely do best as the only cat. He would sit on my lap all day long if I could let him. And his fur is very thick, soft and more of a medium length.
$50 adoption fee please, although I paid probably $300 on initial vet costs.

UPDATE!!!

Andrew was treated at the ER in Milwaukee and neutered as well!
His bill was about $1,300. Expensive little boy. He is now living inside at Fat Cat Rescue!!! Thank you Kaye!!! Thank you Sam for the donation toward his bill! Thank you Anna for all of your helpful coordination!
I don't think Andrew was ever the aggressor...at one point a month ago he was being chased by 5 cats at the same time. I'll put together a funding page and post later. Anything would help as $1300 is a lot for me. Thank you!!!
Hello everyone. I am hoping someone may have a suggestion for me regarding a stray cat I named Andrew. I just found out he is FIV positive.
I've been feeding Andrew for close to a year now. Andrew is very skitzy and feral. I have 17 indoor-only foster cats looking for forever homes and hadn't tried to trap him and bring him inside due to I feel I'm pretty full-up with kitties.
About a week ago I noticed Andrew was holding up his back left leg...Just using three to walk. Last.night I decided he needed to be seen by a vet. So I was able to trap him and get him to a pet ER.
I just got called by the vet. Andrew is fiv positive. He had several bite wounds on his ankle/foot. That area was very swollen. He had a temp of 105°. He has not been neutered.
I was planning on making room for him inside one of my foster rooms. That room has 6 other kitties in it. Again Andrew is FIV positive, very feral, and will need meds to help him with the infection and high temperature.
I just don't think I should bring him inside now. I feel there is too much risk to the other kitties. FIV is spread via fights in the saliva. I can't take that risk. And he can't go back outside as there is risk of spreading fiv to other stray cats.
I know Save a pet has an fiv positive room. Maybe they would take him and work with him to socialize him. I will call them today.
Does anyone have any other ideas? Does anyone know of someone willing to take him in as a pet and work to socialize him?
Otherwise, he most likely will need to be euthanized. It's so sad, but he has been miserable for a while now (vet is keeping him comfortable now...pain meds, and she gave him sub-cu fluids, and flushed out the leg wound.)

These two kitties were adopted from The Cat's Inn several months ago. Freckles and Boaz are now Holmes and Watson!!
They were born here at The Cat's Inn on March 15th 2019. I captured their feral mama earlier that week after I noticed how big her belly was getting...it was so cold out and those kittens needed to be born inside. See the cool xray of their mama Mimi with six little bitties inside. Oh, did Mimi spit and growl at me in the beginning...really feral kitty. Mimi is a sweetie now, comes around for belly rubs!
Well, Holmes and Watson were adopted together and live in Wisconsin now. Their new owner says they chase each other up and down the stairs like crazy nuts. And they were spoiled this Christmas with all kinds of toys and treats from Chewy. This was their first Christmas tree. We miss you both so much!!! Be good babies now!!

This is Georgia. Tonight is the first time she's ever laid on my lap...and she was relinquished to me in Sep 2016. At that time I was told that she had just been adopted by a Mundelein High School teacher and that that teacher had unexpectedly passed away. Tonight I thought to look up who that teacher was. Mrs Jerri Craven seems to have been a very nice person. Jerri had only adopted Georgia a couple of weeks prior to passing away. It was surely traumatic for Georgia to be adopted into a new home and two weeks later come to The Cat's Inn to live with twenty other cats. She was always hiding alone in the storage room that first year.
Georgie would love a furever family of her own...She would be great as the only kitty or with a laid back kitty roommate. She is diabetic and takes 1/2 unit of insulin twice a day. She actually doesn't mind the shot as long as I tell her how brave she is after she gets it. :)

Sammie update! This sweet boy came to my house as a stray. He showed up on my deck one night. So, of course I fed him. Everyday he came back. One day I went outside and sat down to visit with him and he immediately got in my lap!! What a sweetie. So he was a family cat at some point. But he had been outside for a while because his fur was dirty, his paw pads were calloused, and he had a stinky ear infection. But what a love bug. So I brought him inside, and after a meal he fell right to sleep. Well, Sammie won the hearts and minds of all of the kitties in the main room at The Cat's Inn!
So, after his vet visits and neuter/vaccine/ear treatments this very nice family came along looking for a new kitty for their kitty. See the two kitties sleeping on the bed together? That's Samuel and his new brother Sebastian. The lady holding him is the mom in the house and Sammy follows her all around. So after being an outside stray kitty for quite some time, Sammie is safe inside with his new best buddy. And I'm told he has no interest in going outside anymore!

This is a Mickey update. Remember Mickey was one of three store cats at Reach Rescue. He came to The Cat's Inn in 2016. He ended up having to be on a prescription diet which was hard to maintain in a room with six or seven other kitties. Well along came a family with a kitty on the same diet...so Meeks went to live in Wisconsin and now he is best friends with Wids the all-orange kitty! Mickey even goes on a harness and leash in his backyard!!! Good boy Mickey! You still so fine!!! :)

UPDATE ON LILLIE!!!

Thanks to Fat Cat Rescue, Lillie was able to get her mouth fully taken care of! She had to have all teeth removed. She is feeling some much better now and acting more like a playful kitty. No more terrible mouth pain. She cleans her best friend now and carries around her favorite fluffy ball. It's very cute!!!
