This reading below should definitely give us all something to ponder🤔

I actually read it many times for it to really hit home!🤷‍♂️

Have you ever thought about this?

~In 100 years, like in 2125 we will all be buried with our relatives and friends if we're fortunate.

Strangers will live in our homes we fought so hard to build, and they will own everything we have today.

All our possessions will be unknown and unborn, including the car we spent a fortune on, and will probably be scrap, preferably in the hands of an unknown collector.

Our descendants will hardly know who we were, nor will they remember us.

How many of us know our grandfather's father?

After we die, we will be remembered for a few more years, then we are just a portrait on someone's bookshelf, and a few years later our history, photos, and deeds disappear in history's oblivion.

We won't even be memories.
If we paused one day to analyze these questions, perhaps we would understand how ignorant and weak the dream to achieve it all was.

If we could only think about this, surely our approaches, our thoughts would change, we would be different people.

Always having more, no time for what's really valuable in this life.

I'd change all this to live and enjoy the walks I've never taken, these hugs I didn't give, these kisses for our children and our loved ones, these jokes we didn't have time for.

Those would certainly be the most beautiful moments to remember, after all they would fill our lives with joy.

And we waste it day after day with greed, greed, and intolerance~🧡

All 6 of these dogs were "humanely euthanized" by OC Animal Care. At least that's what they like to call it. As far as we are concerned killing happy, healthy, young dogs is not euthanasia.

Rest in Peace ~ Chewbacca, Levi, Roman, Daisy, Tyler and Bear.

* Individual posts will be updated later.

Volunteers have only been able to walk dogs on site, including the employee parking lot, since the Tustin hangar fire in November.

UPDATE: TYLER was "euthanized" by OC Animal Care . 😭

TYLER (deaf dog?) is on the EUTH LIST at the ORANGE COUNTY, CA SHELTER. He needs a RESCUE COMMITMENT by 5:00pm on 08/15/2024.

TYLER is a 1 year, 2 month old, pocket sized, male, Staffordshire Terrier mix that came into the Orange County shelter on 08/05/2024 as a stray from the City of Fountain Valley.

According to the finder, TYLER seems to do better with females over males. They said he was limping and that his paw pads were raw/burned from running loose on the hot pavement.

TYLER was a bit unpredictable out in the field when Animal Control came to pick him up and tried to scan him for a microchip. So TYLER is yet another dog that was impounded using a catch pole.

On 08/10/2024 when all the dogs in the kennel building were barking, a staff member walked past TYLER'S kennel and found him sleeping on his back leading them to believe he is deaf/hearing impaired.

TYLER is a very young dog that still has his whole life ahead of him. Let's not let the shelter s***f him out before he gets a chance to live his life.

UPDATE: EDWARD was euthanized by OC Animal Care 💔

EDWARD is on the EUTH LIST at the ORANGE COUNTY, CA SHELTER. He needs a RESCUE COMMITMENT by 5:00pm on 08/11/2024 or he WILL BE EUTHANIZED.

EDWARD is a handsome 3 year old, male, German Shepherd that came in to the Orange County shelter on 07/16/2024 after he was found tied up to a fence near the golf course at Mile Square Park.

His finder brought him to the shelter with little difficulty, but a catch pole was used to impound him and to take him through the vet clinic for his intake exam.

He has been scared and nervous in his kennel but was able to be leashed and taken out for a walk. He knows 'sit' and exhibited some play with the handler in the play yard. He is comfortable and friendly with one staff member in particular but is leery and untrusting of people he hasn't met until he is given time to settle and relax.

EDWARD needs a rescue that can get him out of the shelter and give him time to decompress so he can be properly evaluated.

UPDATE: RESCUED by Ollies Pack Rescue and Transport

MALLORY is on the EUTH LIST at the ORANGE COUNTY, CA SHELTER. She needs a RESCUE COMMITMENT by 5:00pm on 08/13/2024 or she WILL BE EUTHANIZED.

MALLORY is a 1 year old, female, Belgian Malinois that came into the Orange County shelter as a stray on 08/04/2024 from the City of Anaheim. The finders said she did better with females over males, and that she actually seemed protective over the female.

A catch pole was used to impound MALLORY and to take her through the clinic for her intake exam. *This seems to be occurring on a regular basis lately. Her medical notes say she is in heat.

In her kennel, MALLORY lunges, barks and snaps her teeth at anyone that has stopped to talk to her or try to get her out of her kennel.

MALLORY needs a rescue with breed experience to get her out of the shelter and work with her to help build her trust and confidence.

UPDATE: JAKE was euthanized by OC Animal Care. 💔

JAKE is on the EUTH LIST at the ORANGE COUNTY, CA. He needs a RESCUE COMMITMENT by 5:00pm on 08/09/2024 or he WILL BE EUTHANIZED.

JAKE is a 5 year old, male, Lab/Rottweiler mix. He came into the Orange County shelter on 07/19/2024 from the City of Santa Ana after he was involved in an altercation with another small/medium dog that was being walked on a leash by their owner. The owner of the leashed dog reached in to separate the dogs and was bitten on her hands causing several small puncture wounds. The dog did not sustain any injuries.

JAKE was impounded using a catch pole.

At the shelter, JAKE has been nervous and scared but has allowed some handling and petting from head to tail. He is friendly with one staff member in particular but is not trusting of people he does not know.

JAKE needs a rescue with a foster if he is going to make it out of the shelter alive.

UPDATE: HODGES was RESCUED. 😊

HODGES is on the EUTH LIST at the ORANGE COUNTY, CA SHELTER. He needs a RESCUE COMMITMENT by 5:00pm on 08/08/2024 or he WILL BE EUTHANIZED.

HODGES is a 1 year 4 month old Doberman Pinscher mix that originally came into the Orange County shelter on 04/09/2024 as a stray when he was found at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley.

Although HODGES was friendly during intake, he was also nervous and he snapped at a vet tech's face. He was adopted (foster to adopt) but returned due to his adopter saying they did not have time for him. He did nothing wrong, and his adopter said he is a good boy with lots of energy.

HODGES is now on the euth list because of the incident in the clinic that happened during his intake exam. Really? If it was such a big deal, why did the shelter put him up for adoption..??

Notes from his adopter say he was good with everyone in the home, including visitors. He wasn't destructive when left alone and was very playful. He knows a few basic commands, loves to play tug of war and did well with a senior Husky in the home. He is mouthy, but very food motivated which makes him easy to train.

HODGES needs a rescue to get him out of the shelter before he is euthanized..!!
