Our Story
Hi, my name is Charla Blair. I am a certified Veterinary Assistant, Professional Pet Sitter and animal lover, as true as they come, and I believe that they are part of our families. I have had many pets in my lifetime, everything from cats to dogs and rabbits to horses. Including my 10 current indoor cats and all the strays that drop by from time to time to get their heads scratched and bellies fed :). My passion is animal care and welfare and I worked for the Logan County Humane Society until they closed their doors in 2016. I had the pleasure of caring for all of those abandoned and abused, showing them that love was possible.
I wasn’t ready to give up caring for animals, so I started Walks & Wags shortly after the Humane Society closed in 2016 to provide a safe, comfortable alternative to boarding by keeping your pets at your home in their own environment while you’re away. I believe they deal with the separation better by being in their own familiar environment, which reduces the stress and anxiety that they may feel by being boarded in a kennel with other strange animals. I am able to maintain their daily routines and give them more one-on-one attention.
With that all being said, I am here to help those with busy lives a chance to keep their pets (any pets) comfortably at home while they work or travel, and at competitive rates. I am bonded and insured, an active member of NAPPS (National Association of Professional Pet Sitters), and volunteer with Animal Haven when I can. In November 2017, I became a permit holder to rescue, rehab and release wildlife here in Ohio, another volunteer venture I’m humbled to be able to offer our community. Please feel free to contact me anytime with any questions, let me know how I can help give you peace of mind by keeping your fur babies at home.
