A message from our CEO!!

“Hi there! My name is Monica and I am the proud owner and founder of this amazing, small, and local business. I live in Roxbury with my husband, two boys, and three rescue dogs. I started Walks Wiggles and Wags unofficially in 2017 after leaving my corporate job as a software tester.

I, like many dog walkers, started out as a hobby dog walker. I didn’t have an official company, let alone a name for it, and I didn’t know anything about running a business. Policies and procedures? Employment contracts? Business insurance? I just wanted to walk dogs and spend time outdoors playing fetch with them. After about a year, people saw the quality of service I offered and word quickly got out. It was then that I realized the high demand for quality pet services, so my mission quickly became to provide clients with the easiest, most reliable, and trustworthy service.

In January 2018, I officially named the business, registered it with the State of New Jersey, and extensively insured it. Over the past seven years, we’ve had the honor of building relationships with and serving hundreds of families across Morris County and parts of Sussex County.”

Yes! All new clients will receive a complimentary meet and greet, where they will meet their dog walker or pet sitter. One of the benefits of hiring Walks Wiggles and Wags is that we work as a team. This means we have backups available in the event your primary dog walker or pet sitter has an emergency, so you’ll never have to worry about coverage.

… a dog’s sense of smell is at least 40x stronger than ours?

Also, dogs can be left or right pawed!! You can find out whether your dog is left or right-pawed by giving them their favorite toy or interactive game and seeing which paw they use to help them first.

One more… you might notice that their ears move around a lot. They actually have around 18 muscles responsible for moving their ears. These help them to change the direction of their ears slightly to hear noises around them better, and play a really big part in telling us how our dogs are feeling.

How Walks Wiggles & Wags Started

In January 2017 I decided to say goodbye to an exhausting commute and an unfulfilling IT job as a software engineer and give myself some room to get back in touch with the simpler things in life. I pursued a life coaching business and soon decided that I wanted to spend more time outdoors with my own dogs. That’s when I realized I could do this for a living so I started walking the local neighborhood dogs and loved it. Fast forward to January 2018, Walks Wiggles & Wags was born and became an official and registered business.

I'm a wife, a mom, and an animal lover and owner. I have three rescue dogs: two active German Wirehair & Shorthair Pointers and one chill and snuggly American Bulldog/Hound mix.

Whether you're working late, have a business event to attend or traveling, I'll make sure that your pets are well taken care of. I'll take them out for walks, keep them company, make sure they always have food and fresh water, clean up after them, and when necessary, even administer medicine.

My clients always get photo and text updates to see how their pets are doing. I know how it feels to leave them behind and because of that, I make sure to always keep you in the loop. Let me take care of your pets' needs so you can rest easy.
