We're happy to share that our Self Service Dog Wash at our South store on Hendersonville Rd is now REOPEN! We recommend making a reservation as we anticipate being busy these next few weeks! You can do that by messaging us, or calling the store at 828 575-9282.

Your pets' health and wellness is important to us, so we wanted to be sure that the water was safe before opening the tubs back up for use. After reading the report from the city last week that E coli and coliform weren't present in water sample testing, we feel a lot better about your pups safely bathing in it! We installed a filtration system that will filter for sediment and reduce chlorination irritants. While we are taking all precautions, please note that the filtration system may not mitigate ALL risks to your pets, so we recommend that folks do their best to prevent the water from getting into their dogs mouths, by avoiding washing their dogs' faces and stopping them from licking the water.

We'd also like to share here that our Bath + Bones location on Merrimon Avenue is now permanently closed due to damage from the hurricane. We hope that regulars at that location will come visit us on Hendersonville Rd! 🩷

Does your dog need a paw-dicure? Kai will be at our South Asheville location this Saturday to trim dogs’ nails! No appointment necessary- just arrive during this time!

Our self wash stations at South are still closed while we wait for the water to be flushed through and become safer for our pets’ skin. We will let y’all know when we have tubs back open! We know you’re eager to get your dirty pets clean after all this time! 🧼

It’s getting cold these evenings and we know many are still without power and need help staying warm- and that includes their dogs! 🥶

Through the end of the month, for every sweater, coat, fleece or hoodie you purchase from us, you’ll get a second one to donate to someone in need! You can take it with you to give to a friend or neighbor, or we’ll donate them to groups in the area doing relief work.

**SOUTH STORE UPDATE** We got internet back AND a big restock delivery today!!!! And we will be OPEN normal hours 10-7 tomorrow (Friday, Oct 11!) 🙌

We still need to restock the freezers- we were worried about power going on and off and didn’t get any on this order, but have some extra at the other stores we can move over the next few days to hold over until next week’s delivery. Everything else should be well stocked!

Of course, we can’t do any self washes until water is back on, but we miss you and your pups so please stop by for a treat and a boop soon! ❤️

Whew folks, things are finally settling down enough in my life/brain for me to sit down and write this post. I am full of such sadness and such gratitude for this city and region that I love so much. I am heartbroken by the loss and destruction, and I am humbled and in awe of the way I have seen this community pull together this week and love and support each other. I wanted to take a moment to share a few thank you's from the past few days.

First, a thank you to my incredible staff, who came together immediately to support each other, all of our customers, me, this business and our community while they were still reeling from the trauma of the storm and its aftermath. I can't imagine a better group of humans to work alongside- even some of their partners came in to help us out. Together we ran the only open pet store in town for a chaotic few days- which also served as an internet cafe, meeting point, emotional support center, supply distribution center, and information help desk. Only one of these things was in the job description they signed up for, and they handled it all with grace, compassion and unbelievable teamwork.

Secondly, I would like to thank ERC Broadband, the local company that provides our internet access, for allowing us to have internet when no one else did. Not only did this allow us to open the Downtown store on Saturday morning and provide pet food to all of the hungry pets in Asheville, but more importantly, share internet access with the public. We were able to help so many people connect with their loved ones, find safe routes for evacuation, get necessary information about supplies and insurance and FEMA help. I watched people tell their terrified families they were okay, and I watched people find out horrible news. It was hard, and important, and I was so grateful that we could help out in this way.

And of course I want to thank all of you who have visited our stores since the storm hit! What is going to help Asheville and WNC rebuild is support of local businesses like ours. You have shown patience, kindness, and empathy to us when we really needed it this past week, and are helping us keep our entire staff employed through a natural disaster which is remarkable. We are so grateful for your support all the time, but especially now. Thank you.

And to those from afar who have reached out with words of kindness and with donations and offers of help- we see your love and we appreciate it. This area was devastated this week and it is going to take us a long time to get back to a new normal, and you can continue to help by keeping us in your hearts and prayers and visiting our city and spending money at local businesses when we are ready for you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. My heart is simultaneously broken and full. I am so lucky and grateful for you all.

We’re open today at our downtown and west stores until 5 pm. We still have this much free raw at the West store if anyone can use it. It was thawed but safe to feed and refrozen.

We are still accepting pet food and supply donations at our downtown store and if you have anyone in need you can send them to us.

We cleared out Bath + Bones of product today. It was our only store to take on significant storm damage, a landslide behind the store sent several inches of muddy water through the whole store. There is also a tree in the roof that has not yet been removed and the structural damage to the shopping center has not been assessed. To reopen, at a bare minimum we’ll need to replace 6 or more inches of drywall and the entire floor. We love our little BB store and hope she will be rebuilt, but only time and insurance will tell. Thank you for your support of our business, in the before times but especially now. We love our community so much 💔

We are open today 10-7 at the west and downtown stores! We are still waiting on Internet to come back at south.

We are accepting donations and have free pet food for distribution to those in need at our Downtown store, and we have free thawed and refrozen raw food at both our downtown and west stores if you’re a raw feeder and can help us not waste food!

We are now REOPENED at the WEST store in addition to downtown! We will be there until 7. We pulled a lot of the stock there to the downtown store this week but will be working hard to restock there!

This team is incredible! We got food sent out to PVA, Deaverview, Swannanoa, Old Fort, Gerton, Burnsville and more places today! We will continue to receive donations over the next few weeks and ensure they are brought to the hardest hit and most needy areas in our region. We are so blessed to be able to do this important work! 🙏❤️🙌

Update! We have lots of stock at our downtown store of pet food and supplies with more coming on the way. We also have a bunch of donations coming from our distributors tomorrow that we can get to local organizations or groups doing supply runs- please reach out via DM if you are working with any that need food or litter! We will stay fully stocked for those who have the means to shop, and have lots of food and supplies to donate for those who can’t. We brought two more van loads over from the other stores today to our Downtown store and are hoping for a delivery on Thursday! We aren’t going to run out of the pet food and supplies you need. We are here every day 10-7 and have free wifi. We love you! Tell your dogs and cats we say hi, and continue to take care of yourselves and eachother! ❤️
