We are a registered non-profit (501(c)(3)) organization based in Colorado dedicated to saving dogs.

All Aboard Animal Rescue (AAAR) is a rescue group based in Northern Colorado dedicated to rescuing dogs from high kill shelters from areas like Texas and New Mexico. We take these dogs and give them a second chance at life, and connect these dogs with their forever homes. Our rescue is foster based, meaning that our dogs are in home environments until they find that perfect home.

❤️💚Holiday Clinic Closure Announcement💚❤️

Our office will be closed from today until December 29th to give our team a well-deserved break after another year of tirelessly saving lives! 💪🏼 This time will allow us to rest, recharge, and enjoy the holiday season with our families.

All our animals are safe and well cared for by staff, in boarding, or in their loving foster homes. 🐶 If you’re interested in sponsoring boarding costs or fostering an animal in need over the holidays, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible volunteers, fosters, adopters, and supporters. Your unwavering dedication and compassion make our mission possible!

We have an urgent plea for you for foster homes with no other animals. Please help us spread the word! Remi (pictured here) & a whopping EIGHT other dogs are in need of immediate placement with no other animals in the home. Specks, Moondance, Gourdy, Haku, Delgado, Remi, Saucy, Shoshone & Sully. Each will need a confident handler who can help them avoid other dogs on walks and possibly even begin to work on these behaviors. Do you have experience with leash reactive dogs or dog selective dogs? We need your help if so!

This week’s is Choco and Manuel formerly Chocolate and Manny’ kept his name!

Choco came to us from our shelter partners in 2022 and was adopted in May of that year! Manuel came to us in 2024 and was adopted in April that year by his incredible family!

Their amazing parents say
“We knew Choco was meant for our family when she literally launched herself into my arms at the meet and greet. There really wasn’t an adjustment period. She fit right in. She loves to go “bye bye” and play with her lamb chop toys. She is full of energy and is happiest when all her people are home. TV is also a favorite pastime when with her peeps.

Manny’s story melted our hearts. When we met him, we knew he had to come home with us. Thankfully, him and Choco agreed. Although he can be a “grumpy old man”, especially later in the day, he has his moments of playfulness. Him and Choco play together unless someone is watching. They won’t admit it, but they are really very fond of each other. When thunderstorms get too loud or anything puts him on edge, Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poet’s Department is the cure. He may be blind, but that nose goes after anything that smells delicious. Both of them love to “talk” to the chickens at Nana and Papa’s and go for rides on the four wheelers.”

THANK YOU to all the rescuers, medical team, transporters, fosters, volunteers, and adoptive family involved in finding Choco and Manuel their forever home and for the beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. ❤️

AAAR is looking for dedicated individuals to join our Foster Committee! 🤝🐶🐱

Do you love the dogs and cats of the AAAR family like they’re your own? By joining our Foster Committee you can help us get these precious animals into their forever homes even quicker!!

Here’s how this opportunity differs from providing foster care:
•Foster Committee members work together to serve the needs of the members of our foster care program. Essentially working to keep the foster care program chugging along smoothly. We aim to ensure the program is accessible, manageable as well as enjoyable for all involved. By providing resources, supply bags, anything the foster parents require for their foster animal we hope to leave no need unchecked within our foster care program.
•Foster Committee members assist our Foster Coordinator, Cassie in uploading photos and bios for each of the animals. Many of the tasks committee members work on are virtual and easy, like this one! Thorough training on your delegated tasks will be provided.
•Committee members are required to touch base weekly to stay in the know, however joining this committee is considered a low commitment obligation. We do our best to work around everyone’s schedules.

Requirements:
-Desire to be more involved!
-General understanding of basic dog and cat care
-Reliable, positive and professional attitude
-18+

“Meet Specks, the ultimate snuggle buddy with a heart as big as his love for squeaky toys! This sweet boy is a pro at cuddles and will happily curl up beside you for movie nights or cozy evenings at home. When he’s excited, get ready for some hilarious zoomies that are sure to make you smile!

Specks is working hard on his general obedience and making great progress, thanks to his eagerness to please. He’s still reactive toward other dogs but is showing improvements with patience, training, and slow introductions—he’s even made friends with his current dog buddy, Cayde! Specks also walks well on a leash and is gaining confidence every day.

If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, and affectionate companion who’s ready to grow by your side, Specks is your guy. He can’t wait to find his forever home where he can share all his love and zoomies!”

Foster call! 🆘🐶

•Cisco as well as the trio, Mark, Mayson & Moose will need a Wednesday to Saturday commitment.
•Arthur will need foster care beginning ASAP ideally until adoption but could do a minimum of three weeks.
•Becca will need a foster home ASAP until adoption.
•Shoshone, Sully, Ghost, Saucy & Remi will require a minimum two week commitment to ensure time for decompression is allowed.

AAAR is overflowing with adorable pups, and we just can’t stand to see them stuck in the shelter. With your support, we can give these sweet souls the chance to find loving homes where they can relax and await their happily ever after. Provide a safe and loving space for a dog to decompress! Adopt perfect girl, Sicily 🎀

From her amazing foster parent:
"Sicily is a spirited little floof who wants nothing more than to find her best friend for life. True to her Schnauzer side, she is smart, eager to please, and will promise to be by your side through thick and thin. She is playful and curious and would do best in a home where she gets plenty of mental and physical exercise each day—we usually walk her twice a day, plus give her about an hour of play time at minimum. She gets along with other dogs, although she tends to be much more interested in her human companions. Under supervision, she is great with kids and pretty good with cats, but she can get rambunctious when she is overexcited.

Also true to her Schnauzer side, Sicily wants to protect her family, which means she will warn you of any and all stranger danger. This means that she can be pretty vocal when she’s in an unfamiliar environment—if you meet her at an adoption event you will undoubtedly notice this. We are working on positive reinforcement to reduce her barking, but this will likely be something that her forever family will need to continue to work on for a bit. At home where she is comfortable, her barking has been minimal.

Sicily is a sweet dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. If you have experience with Schnauzers, or if you are committed to doing your homework so that you know what to expect, Sicily will absolutely thrive in your home!"

Adopt Arthur 👑🐶
Long term foster urgently needed as well!

From his last foster:
““Loving and sweet big boy. Arthur is great walking on a slip lead. He has done well with non-aggressive dogs met while on walks and shows interest in them. He has rarely barked at dogs and people walking by (and there are a lot!). Gently takes food from hand. Arthur has done well with guests coming over, crate trained but prefers to be out with his people and pack. Sleeps well through the night in his bed but would happily share your bed if you allowed. Respects staying off of furniture. let’s people touch his paws and tail, loves just being close to his pack. Did well when taken to a “do it yourself” dog wash at the Dog Parlour. Loves his stuffies and his squeaky toys - especially his yellow duck squeaker. ...Has done well riding in vehicles, Getting more comfortable with noise inside and outside. Only 1 time has he chewed on something not for a dog but did not destroy it. **Challenges: Kids and fast movements-especially when startled, anxious, or tired but also increased with time in the home. Arthur gets lonely if in his crate separated from his people (night or in another room). Still learning basic commands. He is working on being fully potty trained but has done well without incident for 4 days now.. needs adjustment periods when environment and the people within it change.”
