When I see a puppy for the first time, one of the first things I do is feel for its ribs. They should have a thin layer of fat over them, and that's it. If I feel more than that, I note it to the puppy's guardians. This can become a serious issue. If a puppy becomes overweight, it can lead to health issues later in life, especially with large- and giant-breed dogs. Check out the video behind this link for more. Please, try to feed your dog a quality puppy food and portions for optimal (not maximum) growth.

But first, it helps for us to understand it. That's where this article comes in.
