Our Dear Friends….We are way to busy at the shop to be able to offer in-home grooming for those nervous about the kennel cough that seems to be going around. If you have recently had your pet boarded please be aware of the symptoms and keep your furry child home. The LaundryMutt hasn’t had a case that we are aware of….with that being said our standard of cleanliness is already very high..we have taken a few more precautions recommended by our consulting vet. The one thing that we strive for at The LaundryMutt is to offer your pup the best “grooming” experience. That is what we know about…GROOMING. We don’t offer treats and food, that’s for Noah's Ark in Winnetka, that’s what they know how to do). We can only and will only offer you what we know and LOVE…and that is safe, clean cage-free grooming. "

If you buy your dog food at the local grocery store…STOP..STOP…STOP!!! it’s garbage…period. Crap 100% I know you love your furry child..SO DO BETTER!! Do your homework and find a food that is in your budget and actually promotes health in your furry family member…BUYING THE FOOD AT THE GROCERY IS WRONG AND YOU NEED TO STOP!!! Please create a relationship with your local pet store…they can advise you on what are great foods!! PETCO AND PETSMART AREN’T A GOOD ALTERNATIVE EITHER…I have in the past been given awful, terrible and potentially deadly advice from these establishments…SHOP LOCAL!!!

A chemical used in Milk-Bones, Ol’Roy, Kibbles’n Bits, Hill’s Pet Food and other pet foods should no longer be considered safe for consumption due to concerns about its ability to damage DNA according to a new animal-model study.

According to the Environmental Working Group: “A scientific panel created by the European Food Safety Authority found that titanium dioxide “can no longer be considered as safe when used as a food additive.” The panel, citing concerns about titanium dioxide’s genotoxicity, or its ability to damage DNA, based its conclusion on a review of hundreds of scientific studies. EWG called on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to quickly consider whether to ban titanium dioxide from use in food."

A chemical that may damage our pet's DNA should not be fed to pets.
