ECLIPSE: IT WILL NOT GET DARK HERE
I’m hearing of events being canceled Monday afternoon and people being worried about letting their dogs out due to the “darkness.” But, outside of the path of totality, it won’t get dark during the solar eclipse, just a bit dull, like during an overcast day. There will be limited, if any temperature/wind changes and no behavioral changes in animals. At its peak in our location, 3:23p.m., 90% of the sun will be covered, and it will look like the attached photo. Life can go on as normal. But, if you want to stare into the sun, remember to protect your eyes with ISO certified eclipse glasses, or that image can be burned into your retina for years.(By the way, you can let your dogs out, they won’t notice a thing. )
