Meet Jenna....

After doing some night fishing with my boys, we stopped a gas station on the way home. We saw this little girl and tried to get her with a net. She ripped a huge hole through it....

I went back last night with my trap, and got her right away. She was waiting for me right at the fence. I thought she was feral, but it turns out she is just the sweetest. So she will be easy to find a home for!

Which means only one thing.... PEOPLE SUCK! She was dumped somewhere and ended up at the gas station. She had a huge tick on her back I removed, gave her a dose of revolution plus and she is decompressing secluded from my brood until I can get her tested.

UPDATE, RESCUE HAS BEEN FOUND AND THEY WILL ALL BE IN GOOD, TRUSTED HANDS!

CLEVELAND RESCUE FRIENDS:

I had a friend reach out to me. She works at a factory. They noticed a mama and some kittens. Her boss said that if they were caught, he would "throw them over the fence".

So she caught them by hand and called me. I'm going to try to get her a trap to see if she can catch the mama for at least TNR if not friendly, but does anyone have room to take these cuties into rescue?

Please call me ASAP so we can figure something out. Does anyone have any room to foster these babies and work on some light socializing?

How absolutely sweet this girl is... a real purr machine and if she thinks you shouldn't stop petting her and you do... she does the sweetest thing and gently grabs your hand with her paws.

Mama ginger is available for adoption. She would do best as an only kitty... but we have been working on socializing. She's not the biggest fan, but I did have one of my kitties sleep in the same bed with us last night and there wasn't a fight the whole night....

Little Jack was the Uno MVP tonight. He plopped down right in the middle of our game. He's quite the card shark!

Jack and his brother Binx would make a great addition to a home with kids, cats or dogs. I have a 90 pound dog and they seem unfazed by her ebbed when she gives them baths.

These two boys would love to be adopted together. Jack (the orange tabby) and Binx (the panther) are litter mates and were trapped out in Hinkley on Halloween. Maybe about 10-12 weeks old. They were treated for fleas, dewormed and I will get them fixed, vaccinated and tested for fiv/felv as well. They are both very playful and love being together. They are tiny purr monsters that purr on contact. Both boys have healthy appetites for wet and dry food.

Momma Ginger is very friendly and is a purr machine. She would do best as an only kitty. She is not a fan of other cats or my pup, but that could be because she's in mommy protection mode with her babies.

Based on their level of friendliness from the time I trapped them, I would say they all have had human contact. Mom was MOST DEFINITELY an indoor kitty. And the baby boys were almost instantly friendly as if they were born inside, had contact with people, then dumped.

How fitting is it that I caught an orange and a black kitten on Halloween? Meet Jack and Binx, both males that were trapped in Hinkley tonight.

I have their mom (Ginger) as well in a trap. Is anyone available to transport to the APL or pet fix tomorrow morning and pick up in the afternoon? I will have cash to pay for the service, but I work tomorrow.

I haven't been doing much rescue lately, and that's for a lot of reasons.

Living in my own now, having to pay all my own bills I honestly can't afford to. I can't intake because I can't afford to get stuck with more cats and nobody ever holds up their end to take then back.

Another reason is for my mental health. I have been riddled with anxiety so bad I don't want to leave the house.

But today, in a miracle I caught 5 out of 5 cats that I needed. 3 kittens up top and then two pregnant females, one being their mama and one from two litters ago.

Now there are probably 10+ more cats that need TNRed at this house, but we will get that done in time.

The kittens are off to another rescue to be socialized, fixed, vaccinated and afford out to living homes. The females will be going to be fixed, vaccinated and returned back to where they can live their lives out baby free.

I realize how stressful trapping is, but I do miss it. I feel so proud for the first time in a long time.

Kitten season is here... started my day by catching these beauties in a shed out in Medina.

They went off to Kitten Crazy which is another great rescue who does AMAZING work. I've teamed up with them a few times and they have helped me out with intakes.

I'm working with the feeder to get the few adults on the property TNRed so there will be no more kitties!

I happen to have my fishing poles in my van and he let me do a few casts and I got this bass. It was a very exciting morning.

Here are some pictures of the first litter that went to my rescue friend from last weekend.

Someone called me because they had found these kittens in a hoader garage. The last picture was the picture I was sent, and they were laying on top of their momma which had past away.

I went through the entire garage and caught these babies and took them to be processed. They are doing great, eating on their own and not needing bottle feed anymore. They are no longer hissing and scared which is great!

These guys are in such great hands and I'm so lucky to get to save these babies and get them to someone who can take great care of them. My favorite part is the catching and trapping of the cats.

NEVER leave the mama behind.... this is the second litter of kittens I've caught this year.

Since I don't do intake, another rescue friend of mine took them in. They will be dewormed, defleaed, and given vaccines at the appropriate age and size, then fixed and put up for adoption.

The feeders have been attempting to catch Mama for 5 or 6 years with no luck. I was able to catch her for them in a matter of 3-4 hours.

The only way she'd go near a box trap is if we used the kittens as bait. So I caught all of them first, put them in a carrier and used them as bait. I put the box trap (covered so she could only see the kittens) in front of the carrier and let them be.

This was all done in the garage she had moved them into, so it was decently warm. I'd check to see if the trap went off, and when it finally did there was some excitement AND relief.

Mom will be headed off in the morning to be TNRed and returned to her area where she will never have a litter of kittens again!

****WARNING****
Going in a sewer without testing the air quality can be deadly. Poisonous gasses have a way of building up and killing you within a few breathe in such confined space. I was clearly surrounded by professionals and first responders.

Saturday a friend called me about a cat that was stuck in a sewer for 4 or 5 days. With the help of the Cleveland fire department and Police, I was able to get down there and save him.

It took a little while to locate him because there was 6 tubes he could have been in. I had to lure him out with some food and use my catch pole to pull him out.

Sadly, we didn't get any pictures of me or the cat because everything happened so fast. Despite being down there for so long, he looked really good. He was dry and seemed uninjured.

The other rescuer who got the police and fire squads to the scene was so worried about the cat, she didn't think about it. But my girlfriend got these pictures of everyone watching me work.

Huge shout out to both departments who helped us save that kitties life. And also to Addie from Addie's Pet Protection It was very exciting and I'm glad I was able to get him.

HOLY CRAP!!!!

I got Waldo! I have spent countless hours trying to trap this cat. The first time I went out was November 5th LAST YEAR.

I've asked numerous times for prayers for me to get him and today I had his number. He will be going to the vet tomorrow morning to get a full work up.

I gave up so many times after spending 2-6 hours at a time to get him. It is a miracle and I'm so happy.

He wouldn't show up, or someone was feeding him. It almost doesn't even seem real!

So this handsome fella is Aska. He came into the clinic the other day. When the doctor and I came back in the last asked if I fostered cats.

I told her I do cat rescue and she then tells me she adopted this guy from me! After she said that I remembered. I was trying to catch another cat, but this guy went in the trap. I posted him to see if he was missing. When he wasn't, his mom contacted me and said she'd like to adopt him.

Aska is very loved and well taken care of. I woods have had no idea of she didn't say something. I've been at the clinic for about 6 months now and I've been waiting for one of my cats to come in. It really made my day and it was my first appointment....

IT MUST BE MAGIC MONDAY!

I set out to trap this mom (I've been trying to trap for about a year) and her 4 babies...

Thanks to a donated second drop trap from Morganne Kastor, I'm able to set it up the week before and get them used to eating under it for trapping day.

I arrived, got everything set up and they all went in right away, no hesitation! ALL 5 AT ONCE! We got them into their own seperate humane box traps for TNR tomorrow. It was a rush for sure and it went just as smoothly as I could have hoped it would.

If only every week trapping could go this easy, I would have lower blood pressure. Don't get me wrong, I live for trapping day. The excitement is through the roof sometimes.

I'm so lucky to get to do what I love that helps the cats!

Huge shout out to my friends and coworkers at Lakewood Animal Hospital!

After trapping cats last night while I was on my way home, this old pup walked out in front of my car. I had stopped in time, parked my car and went after him.

I was able to get him in my car and run him to the clinic to scan for a microchip. He had one, but it wasn't registered with contact info.

One of my coworkers took some pictures and posted him online and found the owners. He is 17 years old and has dementia. He wandered out of his yard and got lost. Thanks to Charlotte, he's now home safe today. We were able to keep him overnight so he'd be safe and warm!

I'm very lucky to work with a bunch of dedicated animal lovers. Everyone stayed a little later to help me help this old man!

Happy Monday everyone! Sorry I went offline for a few days, I just needed a reset.

But I wanted to jump on here today and share a great program that my friends at Kamms Cat Guardians are putting together.

They do a feral cat shelter workshop every year, but you have to pre-register in order to take part. They are a wonderful organization that helps build outdoor feral cat shelters for the winter.

Please please please check them out. They do a lot of good for community cats as well as their caretakers!!
