Going to Deep Run Horse Show? Need a stock tie for the Derby or the Classic? I'll have some ready made ones in traditional white, as well as colors and patterns for appropriate occasions!

I'm now also making custom shadbelly points! I can make a pattern of your existing points at the show, to be sure your new set works with your coat brand and size. The summer always flies away, so it's not too early to place your order for those special end-of-season events and finals. Makes a great gift for your pony rider headed to Pony Finals!

We are approaching the June marathon of horse shows in Northern Virginia, starting with one of the most prestigious outdoor summer shows, Upperville, and everyone will want to look their best! Even veteran exhibitors, trainers and horses will feel the added pressure. For those who are shipping in same day, that presents some extra stressors. To reduce that stress level, here are some helpful reminders in regards to braiding for ship-ins.

Prepare your manes ahead of time for braiding. Too long, too thick, cut,, show-sheened manes are nearly impossible to braid. Talk to your braider if you need more information.

Wrap tails before shipping to keep them clean. Pack an extra elastic tail wrap to use after braiding, in case the first one becomes soiled during shippping.

Allow plenty of travel time, and time for your horse to decompress if needed once you get there. Traffic is slow-moving on route 50 ! Take into account schooling / hacking times allowed in the ring, if needed.

Pack enough fly spray and/or a fly scrim. Avoid spraying manes/tails with fly spray, which can make them greasy.

Be prepared to hold your horse, if tying at the trailer is not an option.

For those adorable lead liners, check ahead of time if you'd like a particular yarn color. Many like to go traditional with plain yarn, even in lead line, but others like to match the childs' or handler's outfit. Ask your braider ahead of time.

Have a plan in place in case it's pouring rain and you plan to have your horse braided outside your trailer.

Convenient pick-up and delivery at horse shows on my braiding schedule, or drop off/pick up in Warrenton, Va.

**Reminders**
Manes need attention? Be sure to have them pulled for braiding well before your show day.

Remember to wrap tails for shipping to keep them clean for those shipping in same day.

Bring an extra tail wrap so you'll have a clean one to use once the tail is braided.

Allow plenty of travel time to Upperville / Loudon. Traffic moves slowly - Route 50 is just one lane each way!
