Don't tell her she's a puppy, she ain't ugly that's for sure! Ginny is absolutely rocking it at six months. She should be pretty easy to steady up when it's time! I'm very impressed with her natural ability, she's going to be a hell of a dog.

We're finally hitting it heavy with training! Ginny is lining pretty good, we put her on her very first track today. It wasn't perfect but it's a start she'll be rocking it in no time. If you don't have access to birds you can take a piece of cloth or a canvas bumper and put some scent on it to work on tracking.

At six months old Ginny is a water dog now! I don't think I've ever been able to do water work in March! I'm very happy with how this young pup is turning out, she's going to be an absolute rock star!

Here's the man that got me into hunting dogs, Reggie! Reggie was a pitbull that I was suppose to "foster" that decided to stick around. As a joke one day I took him grouse hunting and to my surprise he put birds up for me. It was history from then on. We hunted every chance we could during my college years and ignited my passion for dogs, more importantly bird dogs. He sadly passed a couple of years ago due to cancer at ten years old. He'll always hold a special place in my heart and I'll always consider him my first hunting dog.

Bearded GD's Have A Wisco Wire's Gin

Ginny is our potential foundation bitch, she's out of our VC Sig, whelped by Bearded Gundogs - German Wirehaired Pointers, Dog Training & Boarding. So far Ginny has been checking all of the boxes that we're looking for. For a pup that's 6 months at the time of writing this she's been very impressive. She's been easy to train and has been cooperative in the field. She has a natural retrieve and has been backing since she was 10 weeks old. We put her on her first planted pigeons at 5 months old and pointed them within the first 3 birds I popped for her. Moving forward with her has been pretty easy going and we're seeing tons of drive come out of her. She'll be one to watch in the upcoming years. So far she has been doing a good job on meeting all expectations we have for her.

Buckingham Louie UTIII

Buck, he's my very first wirehair that got me into this wonderful breed. Buck unfortunately did not make the cut to be a breeding dog. He is however a heck of a hunting dog and will always put game on the table. He came to me as a re-home dog and has taught me more in the first few years than any other dog has in the years to come. Buck is an extremely high drive dog that is a handful and stressful at times to work with. He typically ranges 200-400 yards in the field, but will bring it in to 45-60 yards in the grouse woods. His coat is a bit thinner than I like to see in the chest, so I need to watch him on cold duck hunts. That being said his drive is off the charts. I've seen this guy jump off a ten foot cliff to retrieve a bird in the Sandhills and break an inch of ice to get to downed waterfowl in November. We're working on getting this level of drive in our dogs with a high level of cooperation.

Sig is our in house stud dog, currently available to approved bi***es. Sig is a 5th generation Versatile Champion and our first Versatile Champion. He's hunted the Northwoods of Wisconsin, Sandhills of Nebraska, and is regularly hunted for waterfowl. Sig is a medium ranging dog typically ranging 100-200 yards in open fields, but will tighten up to around 45 yards in the grouse woods. He's been my go to waterfowl dog with his dense harsh coat, he can shrug off cold weather and has the drive to bust ice in our Wisconsin late season. In the house he has a great off switch and is gentle enough to play with my toddler. His biggest strength is his cooperation, he will constantly check in during hunts and takes to learning new commands with minimal training. If you're looking to add cooperation, dense coat, and trainablity to your lines Sig is your guy.

Hello and welcome to Wisco Wirehairs! We're dedicated to producing, breeding, and training fine versitle gun dogs through the NAVHDA testing system. I personally have tested at all levels of NAVHDA and currently have one Versatile Champion in house. Our goal is to produce a dog that is first and foremost a family dog with a off switch in the house, but knows how to turn it on in the field. We focus on dogs that you can take duck hunting on a 20 degree day in the morning and turn around and chase roosters in the afternoon.
We're currently in the process of developing our kennel and should be opening our doors some time in 2025. Currently we offer and host training weekends at the price of birds. If you're interested in learning how to train your own hunting dog please reach out and we'll get you added to training weekends.
On the breeding side of the house we offer stud services to approved bi***es with our VC Klug's Muddy Wires Sigismund. Our potential foundation bitch is still working on proving herself in NAVHDA tests. If she makes the cut we're expecting or first litter some time late 2025 to early 2026. All of our breeding dogs are hunt tested through NAVHDA and go through OFA and Pennhip health screenings for hips, elbows, thyroid, and checked for genetic defects at a minimum.
Feel free to reach out if you had any questions.
