This is Izzy. Izzy suffers from what they believe are idiopathic seizures. Her vet, the lovely Dr Lori, discussed with Izzy’s owners that she should never again go to a large high volume grooming shop and that she will forever need a one on one groomer to limit the stress that seems to cause these seizures. This also means that we have to give a Izzy a haircut that can be done quickly and with as little stress as possible. Today that meant a shave before the bath and two dryers without nozzles. There was also lots of cuddles through the drying process so that she knew she was safe. Izzy and dogs like Izzy are the reason I knew from the time I got started as a pet groomer that I would one day have my own shop and would only work one on one. This December will be 8 years in business and while there will always be ups and downs in business, it’s moments and dogs like this that make it all worth it!

I’m so in LOVE with this girls groom! She has come a long way since her owner rescued her. She was a breeding b*tch and we think only groomed right before having puppies, so when she first started getting groomed regularly she flipped out for everything from the bath to the drying to the brushing and the clippers.

For YEARS I had to kennel dry her which led to a kinky curly uneven canvas for me to work with. To be able to provide a cut like the one she gets today, I have to be able to use the HV dryer to straighten the coat. Over time, she’s learned to just jump in the tub, stand when asked, and eventually tolerated minimal drying to floof her coat as much as possible and the clippers became a non issue. Then sadly her pupmate passed and she became a single dog appointment. I wasn’t sure how she would do for drying as time is precious and using the kennel to dry was no longer an option. Much to my surprise, she’s learned to handle the HV dryer like a champ and thus her style has evolved beautifully!!

The long awaited news everyone has been waiting for! For the first time in too long I can officially say I am accepting new clients. I have room for 6-8 small to medium sized dogs. At this time I don’t have the capacity for large breed dogs requiring haircuts. Large breed baths and desheds I can still do. Please text me at 701-425-4608 to set up your appointment! Please excuse me while I grieve. Sampson was my heart dog. He was never without me nor I without him. I’ll never know why it was his time to go and this will forever pain me. Please take it easy on me. I’ve canceled the rest of this week but I’m sure I’ll be a mess for a while.
