When we release varieties we need promotional videos like this one for this Polish winter wheat from HR Smolice. Maybe we could do one for our cowpea from Botswana or FBC-Dylan? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZx8jA-XMOw

FBC members had a productive meeting in Medina, ND today. We discussed formalizing our process of developing projects, the status of our current seed supplies and equipment, and the exciting developments with Pulse USA and both the organic peas and cowpeas identified with recent research. Just a few years ago we started out with over 90 packets of cowpeas from the USDA, each with just 50 seeds. This summer one of the cowpea lines we found to be useful here has been increased up to about 50 thousand pounds. Can you believe it?

Cowpeas are a self pollinated species, so when you make a cross, interesting things happen. Here is a photo of an F1 hybrid between one of the FBC varieties that is a little viney with a bush variety. Just growing like crazy! Of course it would be nice to get a bush variety out of the offspring some year down the line.
